Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Spiva Library Supporters,

It’s been several years since our friend and colleague Art Saltzman passed away. You may recall that a memorial fund for library book purchases was established to honor his memory. To keep you informed, I offer this update of recent activity.

Each year the library purchases the winning publications for various literary awards that were meaningful to Art. The awards Circle Award, the National Book Award, the Nobel Prize in Literature, the National Poetry Series Open Competition Award, the Pen/Faulkner Fiction Award, and the ALA Notable Books Award. Since establishing the Saltzman Memorial Fund, many titles that demonstrate literary excellence in the areas of fiction, noncollection.
