We are a dedicated team of 50+ engineers, industrial designers, and business students
from all walks of life coming together for one goal: to dominate F-SAE competitions and
build racecars year after year.
We race our car at an international competition. At competition, there are teams from all
over the world who descend upon Lincoln, Nebraska to see who will be awarded the most
points. There are static events that contest the design, cost, and business aspects of each
vehicle and dynamic events that test the performance of the car on a track. At the end of the
competition, and after all the scrutiny of static events and placing in autocross, the cars are
raced against each other in the Endurance event. Last year, only 23 out of 102 teams
finished this event. We had the honor of being one of those few.
The Formula SAE competition started at the University of Houston in 1979. Back then, only
6 teams and 40 students competed. Today there are over 120 teams from all over the world
and 2470 students in the competition. UH was a force to be reckoned with over 20 years
ago in the competition, but only until last year, it had been dormant. Last year, we outdid all
the first year teams and many experienced teams coming in 26th out of 102 teams. This
year, our goal is to break into the top 15 teams and further restore the racing glory to UH.
Sponsoring the University of Houston Formula SAE team is an investment in the training of
enthusiastic technical professionals of the future. Think of sponsorship as being a job
advertisement and a human resources investment for the future. Students in this program
use what is taught in the class room and apply it to real life situations. This allows team
members to develop skills and gain experience that is desirable in any working
environment.
In addition, we are a 501(c)(3) organization. Your support will be tax deductible. Gifts in kind
