1 PC Network to Share Picture Data (Option)
A computer network can be formed as an option byhooking up two or more computers to the Slit VideoSystem to share the picture data among them.As a result, it is possible to check the finish order ofthe previous race and judge that of the current oneat the same time. In another use of the network,using one computer exclusively for capturing racesand the other for judging finish order will reduce theburden of the photo finish judge.
2 Photo Beam Function
The Slit Video System can serve the function of aphoto beam unit. By using the System with a sportstimer ST-306 (available as an option), the winner'sfinish time can be output and displayed as soon asthe runner has crossed the finish line.
3Continuous Capturing up to 20,000 Sec. (333 Min.)
Capturing can be made continuously up to 20,000seconds, making the system available for sportsevents extending over long hours and having manyathletes, such as marathon.
4 Capturing During Judgement Work
Before the finish order judgment of the current raceis completed, a new race can be started and captur-ing can be made.

5 Name Display Only by Inputting Bib No.
During the finish order judgment work, the name of therunner is displayed on the monitor screen only byinputting the pre-registered bib No. Resulted finishorder on the screen can also be printed out.
6 Auto-Crop Function
The blank space among the runners, which is irrelevantto the finish order judgment, is cut off automatically.This function will facilitate the judgment process as wellas slim down the size of the data to be stored in thehard disk.
7 Failsafe against Accidental Timer Reset
Even if the timer is reset accidentally during an event,normal timekeeping can be resumed using the meas-urements preserved in memory.
9 Easy Event Registration
Once the lists of event names are prepared, the regis-tration of those names for a particular meet can bemade easily by clicking them on the display. Additionof new event names can be made easily through thekeyboard.
10 Gamma Compensation Function
Gamma compensation can be carried out easily afterphotographing. Pictures taken in bad weather, againstthe sun or in an ill-lit stadium can bereproduced into distinct ones on the monitor display tofacilitate the judgment process.
11 Remote Control of Camera’s Iris
When the camera's iris needs to be adjusted urgently,in case of sudden change in the weather, for example,it can be remote controlled by the capturing PC.
12 Automatic Capturing
The camera monitors the finish line all the time, auto-matically recognizing and capturing the runners whocrossed it. This function can eliminate mistakes inoperation. Manual capturing using a grip switch is alsopossible.
8 Manual Deletion Function
A part of the picture taken can be deleted selectively.In long distance track races, for example, deletingrunners one or more laps behind those finishing therace can prevent confusion in judging the finish order.

THE MECHANISM OF THE SLIT VIDEO SYSTEM
The Slit Video System takesa digital video through a slitinstalled in line with the finishline at a rate of 2,000pictures per second (whenthe scanning speed is set at0.5 msec/line).

Each picture obtainedcovers an ultrathin verticalline which is approximately1 cm in width and 15 m inlength.
Time(Lapse of time whilethe grip switch is keptpressed)
The pictures are patched together inorder of the time when they weretaken, and then the picture at right willbe shown on the PC screen. In thefinish order judgment procedure, thefinish time and order will be displayedonly by aligning the judgment line withthe runner's torso and pressing the enterkey.

FEATURES
When the runner takes a starting action, the waveform of pressureapplied on the starting block shows frequencies completely differentfrom those at the set position. RM-100 uses an electric filter circuit todetect such frequency change and judge whether the runner hastaken a starting action.
