Description:
Spot looks like your average puppy. He has brown, with a dark brown spot over his right eye. Judging by the way he looks, there is nothing terribly unique about Spot. But there is, in fact, something very different about him. And what makes Spot different from just any other puppy, is that he always stands up for what’s right. But just like anyone else, he was not simply born that way. Oh, no! In fact, Spot had to learn the hard way how important it is to stand up for right.

Spot looked like your average puppy. He was brown, with a dark brown

spot over his right eye.Judging by the way he looked, there

was nothing terribly unique about Spot. But there was, in fact, something

very different about him.And what made Spot different from

just any other puppy, was that he always stood up for what’s right.

But just like anyone else, he was not simply born that way.

Oh, no! In fact, Spot had to learn the hard way how important it is to stand up for right.

It all started one day when Spot began to feel lonely. You see, Spot had no siblings to play with him,

and at times he felt very alone. “Mom,” he admitted, “I’m bored.”

“Well, why don’t you go play at the park?” his mother suggested.

“It isn’t any fun to play alone,” he said sadly. “I need someone to play with me.”

His father shook his head, “What you need is a friend,” he pointed out, “Someone you can play and have fun with.”

“But, I don’t know of anyone who can be my friend,” Spot said.

“Then go find someone else who has no friends, and be friends with them” his father said simply.

“He’s right” Spot’s mother put in. “To have a friend, you must first be a friend.”

“Alright,” Spot agreed, “I’ll keep my eyes open for someone else who needs a friend.”

For the next few days, Spot kept looking for a friendless puppy, but he had not found even one.

Then finally at the park one day, he saw one.A fierce-looking bulldog puppy went strutting through

the park like he owned it. Spot felt a little intimidated by the puppy,

so he didn’t even approach him. That night he told his parents what had happened.

“I found another puppy in the park today” he began.“That great!” said his mom. “What’s his name?”

“I don’t know,” Spot confessed sheepishly. “I didn’t speak to him.”

“What?” said his father in surprise, “Why not?”“Well, he looked a little bit scary” Spot said reluctantly.

“Oh Spot,” his mother gently lectured him; “you shouldn’t judge anyone by the way they look.

Very often looks are deceiving.”
