Extraordinary People

I met Iva Presberry at a Reliv meeting in Jeerson City, MO. Iva is a special person.

She does missionary work in Haiti, a cause near and dear to us at Reliv. She is alsobuilding a part-time Reliv business that allows her to stay healthy and do what sheloves helping others. We have such extraordinary people in Reliv. Every time I get a

chance to meet someone like Iva, Im humbled but proud to know that, together, weare changing lives.

Getting a Head Start

I was on a light home rom our National Conerence in Reno with Reliv Ambassador

Rick Cobb. He was ired-up and eager to spread the excitement with the Reliv gangback home in Columbia, MO. I asked how I could help and got an invite to join thenext meeting. Perect! My daughter, Laura, is a sophomore at the University o Missouri

in Columbia.

I spent the day with my daughter and her riends, college kids with big dreams. I got a

double dose o hope-illed energy that night whenJoe Cobb, Ricks son, and his threeriends sat in the ront row at the Reliv meeting. Seeing young olks looking to take

control o their lives and build residual income at such an early age is inspiring. What alie they can create or themselves by starting now. This is your shot, Joe!

Making Their Own Luck

According to Seneca, Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. I

guess thats why Presidential Silver Ambassadors Rita and Jaime Montenegro areso darn lucky. They illed a bus with 50 excited Distributors (preparation) and droveto National Conerence in Reno (opportunity). They inished ith in the nation that

month and earned a $2,250 bonus. How lucky!

Along or the Ride

Yesenia Zermeno (pictured right)was one o the people on that bus. Knowing no

one and trusting only the recommendation o a riend, she jumped on board. Theexcitement o conerence and the personal connections she made inspired her.

She decided to move up to Relivs highest proit level. Now she and her husband,Moises, are building a new uture together.

I traveled to Minneapolis in January or a standing-room-only special event.

Distributors here are uniied around a common goal: building big business togeth-er. New Reliv Master Directors Chris and Karin Ederer are among those leadingthe charge. For them its all about getting people to think proactively and make

positive change happen.

Chris is a middle school math and science teacher and Karin is a judge or USA

gymnastics. Thanks to Reliv, their kids wont be leaving college saddled with massivedebt. They also can enjoy their time together as a amily and take vacations when they

please. Heres hoping they take that next step to Ambassador and can enjoy a vacationon us our 2012 Leadership Celebration trip to Ban, Canada!

Changing the Landscape

Phoenix is ired up! And no ones more excited than Presidential Bronze Ambassador

Teresa Long. Teresa is an herbalist with 30+ years in nutrition. Last year a riend told

Q: How are seeds selected or use in LunaRich?

The LunaRich germ plasm soybean screening is conduct-

ed at the National Center for Soybean Biotechnology(NCSB), located in the Bond Life Sciences Center onthe University of Missouri campus. Dr. Henry Nguyenand his staff have created a database of the traits of thou-sands of varieties of soybeans. Only those seed varietiesthat have the highest concentration of lunasin, the natu-rally occurring peptide behind many of soys remarkablehealth benefits, are selected for use in LunaRich.

These specific varieties are continually being enhancedthrough natural plant breeding, so each successive seedharvest yields even higher lunasin levels. That meansthat all soybeans used in LunaRich are non-GMO, of

the absolute highest quality and only getting better!

Q: How does LunaRich compare to otherapproaches to cholesterol management?

Cholesterol management starts with proper diet andexercise. And LunaRich can play a significant role inthat, by delivering elevated amounts of bioactive lunasinthrough Reliv shakes.

Lunasin works at an earlier stage in the cholesterolproduction process than prescription statins. Lunasin

reduces without entirely stopping the expressionof the HMG-CoA Reductase gene, whereas statin drugswork by blocking the HMG-CoA Reductase enzymeafter it has been produced. Statin drugs can oftentimesbe too efficient and block too much of the HMG-CoA enzyme. As a result, serious side effects can occur

Some people do require statins to maintain goodhealth, however, and it is important to consult yourphysician before starting or altering any cholesterolmanagement program.

Q: How is LunaRich able to deliver 5-10 times asmuch lunasin as ordinary soy powders?

There are a number of factors that contribute to thebioavailable lunasin content of LunaRich. As previouslymentioned, we begin with the germ plasm screening

to select only those varieties of soybeans that naturallycontain the highest lunasin content. The manufacturingtechnology used to produce LunaRich is also critical.This proprietary process does not use any harsh chemi-cals that could destroy or wash away the peptide. Manysoy powders are manufactured through a chemicalextraction method; however, LunaRich is manufacturedusing only mechanical extraction to separate the varioussoy components.

Q: How does LunaRich make lunasin moleculesmore bioavailable?

Once we identified that a protective shell of proteaseinhibitors was necessary to deliver the bioavailablelunasin content, we refined the manufacturing pro-cess to assure the integrity of the protease inhibitors ismaintained throughout. At the Missouri Plant ScienceCenter, we have total control over the manufacturing

LunaRich, Relivs breakthrough soy powder, exploded onto the nutrition

scene in February and continues to generate excitement across the country.

Our ShotRobert explains: When 24K was introducedat conference in Atlanta last February, [Vice

President of North American Sales] SteveHastings kept saying, This is our shot. Thats areally rhythmic phrase, and it inspired us to turnit into something more. The pair wrote andchoreographed a music video about 24K. Itsopening doors and making the product more

visible, Robert adds. Within 15 minutes ofposting the video, we already had someone ask-ing, How do we get this stuff?

By February, their This Is Our Shot video hadgone viral. When it reached Reliv headquarters,Robert and John were asked to perform live at

Reliv National Conference.

It was amazing to perform in front of so manyReliv friends! What a thrill! Robert says. Thecrowd went wild, and the duo received twostanding ovations.

When Robert Laird and John Schwendinger irst started

their Reliv businesses, they never thought they would become

internet sensations. It all started when they met at Johns irst

Reliv meeting almost two years ago. Our geek connection

was instantaneous, Robert says. Ater bonding over a love o

Star Wars and a similar sense o humor, we knew we had to

unite to provide entertainment to geeks everywhere.

Since then theyve produced over 73 videos as part o their

ongoing web series, Geeks Corner, and together theyve

been using social media to expand their Reliv businesses.

But the Primordial Penguins are morethan just a one-hit wonder. Behind

the scenes, Robert and John have beenleveraging social media to expand theirnetwork and grow their business.

Weve discovered its often easier forus to contact someone via Facebookor Twitter than it is with the phone,John says.

By borrowing credibility from theiralready popular website, a family-friendlysite for Disney Annual Passholders, thetwo are using social networking to bring

Reliv to the Disney community.We use social media to get the discus-sion going with people. Reliv is all aboutconnecting with people, John says. Thenonce a relationship is built, we can startlearning about people more and seeinghow we can help them.

Robert explains: A bulk of the Distri-butors that weve signed up in the last

3-4 months have come from Twitter.Every once in a while a group of uswill have meet-ups in the park where abunch of Disney fans get together. Imconstantly meeting people at Disneylandand networking there. Its nice to be ableto offer a healthy alternative in 24K.

For Distributors who might be ventur-ing out into new territory, John advises,Remember, social media really isntanything new, its just a new tool. Itsabout the convenience of meeting people

Putting light back in their eyesBuckheart Ranch in Escondido, CA, is a faith-based programdedicated to helping troubled youth turn their lives around byteaching integrity, stewardship, commitment and the impor-tance of family.

Senior Director Kurt Behrendt from Bozeman, MT, intro-duced Buckheart Ranch Ministries Founder Chuck Dilts toReliv products when Chuck faced a serious health issue. Afterreceiving fantastic results, both Kurt and Chuck knew the boysat the Ranch could benefit as well.
