company. This is understandable as Baffin has gained a well-deserved reputation as the leader in Polar Proven outdoor gear.What is changing however is Baffin’s all season approach tofootwear and apparel. On a recent trek through the Himalayas to visit both the school and hospital Baffin supports through
the Hillary Foundation ofCanada, I was able to test
a couple of key Baffin items.We trekked for over twoweeks in the monsoonwearing Baffin’s Trail 2Rapids footwear and ournew rainwear (yes it rainedevery day). Both were fantastic. Anyone who saysyou need a fullon mountainboot for the trek to base
camp is wrong. I see it as personal preference and prefer thelighter, more flexible, water draining Trail 2 Rapids construction. Try them out and I hope you’ll agree they are one of the mostversatile shoes ever developed.
Remember, no matter which brand you choose, get outside and have fun!
