We, as a church, are here to unleash the transforming influence of Jesus in PV, the Northland and beyond. Jesus transforms one heart at a time. Are you ready to open yours?

Life is messy, and tough topics and big ideas aren’t meant to be tackled alone. We need each other to grow and thrive. The studies offered this semester will cover topics about marriage and family, care and support needs, and personal spiritual growth. Do you need some encouragement in these areas? Do you need the reminder that we aren’t in this alone?

In every journey, there is a next step. That’s true for your spiritual journey too. Whether you’re exploring what it means to have a relationship with Jesus or you are excited to know Him better, we want to walk with you.

So I invite you to take the next step. Consider this booklet a road map of opportunities where we can grow together. In these studies, you will meet new people, share your story and open yourself up to the possibility of a transformed heart. It may feel risky at first, but when we do life together, we begin to realize that Jesus meets us wherever we are in the journey.

Have you decided? After you’ve explored the claims of Jesus and the Bible, you’ll find yourself at a decision point. If you’ve not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, consider admitting that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, believing that Jesus is the living Son of God and choosing to follow Him the rest of your life. If you need to talk to someone, talk to one of our pastors or prayer partners following your weekend service or call the church office at 816.781.5959.

Want to grow deeper in community? When God gave Jesus the mission of reaching the world with the good news of His love and grace, Jesus employed a radical strategy: he poured his life into a small group (his 12 disciples). Life-change happens best in biblical Community because it provides the place to experience transformation through Gospel-centered Bible study and discussion, share in life-giving relationships with others and understand and engage in the greater mission of God.

Community Groups are one of the primary vehicles of life transformation at Pleasant Valley. If you find yourself ready to engage in this kind of community, visit PleasantValley.org, pick up a list of featured Community Groups at the Next Steps Center during a weekend service or contact Josh Herod (jherod@, x302) or Ryan Long (rlong@, x320).

Ready to call PV your church home? And if you think PV may be the church you want to call “home”, join us at one of our upcoming Membership Classes on Wednesday, January 29 or Wednesday, April 9 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Next Steps room. Membership class is where you’ll learn about PV’s vision, values, doctrinal beliefs and expectations of those who want to join what God is doing at PV.
