Civil war took place from 1840 to 1880Civil war was caused by unfair taxation, and how the north didn’t like

the south using Slaves to do their workThis caused a great deal of problems, Abraham Lincoln had to create

some amendments to help give slaves their rights Slavery was obviously an unethical thing to do

CONTINUED The Emancipation Proclamation January 1, 1863 “Gave all persons held as slaves within any state or

designated part of a state, the people where of shall then be in rebellion against the United States shall be then forever free.”

Freed about more than 50,000 slaves This revolutionized us by starting to give slaves rights, and be

considered normal citizens
