Congratulations Barbara!Barbara Bernardini retired from South San Francisco Scavenger in early March. During her almost 16 years as Recycling Manager, Barbara helped implement and grow our recycling and organics programs. She worked tirelessly to encourage residents, school children and businesses to reduce, reuse, recycle and rot (compost). Barbara penned newsletters, gave facility tours, staffed information tables at community events, served on the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce Board, visited numerous businesses, and much more. Her dedication, sense of humor, and passion for the environment made working with her tons of fun. We miss you already Barbara and hope you enjoy a retirement full of hiking, kayaking, and traveling. We also hope you buy yourself some new boots!

Here’s Barbara Bernardini showing off a “Mini Barbara” cookie at her retirement party.
