What began in 2003 as a vision to create a 12,000-

acre linear park system, stretching nearly 40 miles from the San Jacinto River at Highway 59 to Spring Creek Park in Tomball, has come a step closer to reality. Over 12 miles of handicap-accessible trails now connect Harris County Precinct 4’s Jesse H. Jones and Dennis Johnston parks, with additional trail segments soon to be completed. The goal to offer many types of recreational outdoor activities and preserve this linear parkland as a crucial wildlife corridor continues under the leadership of Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle.
