ANSWERS TOQ. What are your Extended Care hours?A. Extended Care runs from dismissal time until 6:00p.m. each school day.
Q. How do I register for Extended Care?A. You can register for Extended Care through yourParishEXTEND account. This includes daily, weekly,monthly and yearly options. If you do not have aParishEXTEND account, please createone at http://bit.do/ultracamp. Please note thatyour ParishEXTEND account, login and password areunique to ParishEXTEND and are not the same as yourgeneral Parish portal login.
Q. How do I add additional extended care days?A. Extended Care by the Day or by the Month is asingle session to select, followed by options of specificdays or months. When you sign up initially the session iseasy to find. However, when you return later to addmore days or months, the session does not appear withthe other options. To add additional care please edityour Extended Care enrollment session listedunder your current reservations and add the new daysor months you need, then proceed to payment andcompletion.
Q. What is the late fee policy?A. If a child is picked up after 6:00 p.m., a $1 perminute per child late fee will be charged to youraccount. Repeated or excessive late arrivals will resultin the implementation of an accelerated fee structure.
Q. Who do I contact with schedule changes?A. Please email [email protected], and wewill make sure the change gets to the right person.
Q. Is there an advantage to registering for extendedcare by the week, month or year as opposed to daily?A. We offer savings based on the amount youpurchase with the yearly plan being the most costeffective option. We offer payment plans for long termcommitments. your questionsQ. What will my child do in extended care?A. We supervise snack time, oversee homework and thenallow time for play. Snacks are not provided and mustbe brought from home. Midway students have theoption to purchase snacks from the PAWS store.
Q.Do you offer payment plans?A. We offer payment plans through the registrationsystem. Follow the prompts in the system to set up yourplan. New this year, we've added discounts for studentstaking multiple dance classes. These will automaticallyapply to your cart during checkout.
Q. What is your payment policy?A. Payment(s) must be made or scheduled at the time ofregistration. You are financially responsible for all daysfor which you are registered, whether or not yourstudent attends or if school is unexpectedly canceled(for instance, due to inclement weather). If you haveoutstanding debts in a given program, your child maynot participate in that program until you have settledyour account with the Business Office. You may payonline through the online registration portal or by checkto the Business Office.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?A. Should you wish to withdraw your student from aParishEXTEND program, you must do so in writing by9:00am on the day following the first class. Please sendyour written notice to [email protected] your child's withdrawal or absence from a classbring the total number of students below the minimumnumber needed for the class to run, you will not berefunded. If your child’s withdrawal does not impact theability of the class to run and is received on time, youwill only be responsible for the cost of the class/lessontaken.

Q. What is your inclement weather policy?A. If inclement weather occurs during Extended Careor Explorations, the Head of School will make thecancellation decision, and you will be contactedthrough the Parish communications system with furtherinformation.
Q. Will outdoor sports classes continue if it rains or istoo cold? A. If your child has opted for a sports class takingplace outside, please ensure that s/he bringsappropriate clothing and a water bottle for outsideplay. Should the weather be too cold, wet or hot, wewill move indoors for alternate athletic activities(teamwork games, cooperative activities, strengthtraining, etc.). You will not receive a refund or creditshould we be unable to play the sport outdoors.

BASKETBALL SKILLS & DRILLS Grades: K-2 Instructor: Kidokinetics Our Basketball Skills & Drills Clinic introduces and develops basic basketball skills in a fun, interactive environment. The coach will focus on the foundational skills of the game including ball handling, passing, footwork, lay up form, shooting form and defense techniques. The clinic is designed to facilitate learning, technique and practice for all children regardless of skill level. BEEBOPPERS Age: 3 years old Instructor: Music Schools International Dallas This age specific program aims to develop early music fundamentals. Children will be exposed to pitch through a structured PreK vocal program, music coupled with movement, rhythmic awareness using percussion instruments, the correlation of sounds, listening skills through music appreciation, and elementary notation and rhythmic reading and writing. CHESS Grades: K-2 Instructor: Herminio Baez Open to all skill levels. Students will be immersed in the world of chess accompanied by a Master teacher. Players will score their games, play without a chess board (looking ahead), learn chess talk, execute tactics including end-game play, attack and defense strategies. The use of chess clocks will also be introduced. PIANORAMA JUNIOR Ages: 4-5 years old Instructor: Music Schools International Dallas Pianorama Junior is a musicianship and theory course for four to five year old children, grouped in age appropriate classes. Children will experience solo and ensemble piano playing, singing to develop pitch, and percussion to develop rhythm. ROBOT GARAGE: THYMIO ROBOTS Grades: Primer-2 Instructor: Tech EdVentures This class introduces robotics and programming using Thymio—a robot that lights up, makes music and moves when sensors are activated. Students will gain an understanding and hands-on experience as they learn mechanical design and theory, Thymio’s pre-programmed behaviors and how to program their own behaviors. Assignments include creating emergency vehicles, dancers, race cars, pirate/space ships, delivery bots, a robot creature and more! TENNIS—USTA HOT SHOTS CLINIC Grades: PreK-K Instructor: Kidokinetics A core program included in the USTA Under 10 Tennis Initiative, this clinic follows the model of other sports such as soccer and baseball by scaling the sport to size for its youngest players. Equipment is designed to facilitate easier learning through age appropriate rackets, specialized balls and hands-on instruction appropriate for young children. The curriculum provides instruction in the areas of serving, overhead, forehand, backhand and volley. LEGO®—BEYOND THE FORCE Grades: Primer-2 Instructor: Michael Calahan Students combine various machines to make more complex models in order to go beyond the force of basic machines. Using the LEGO® WeDo robotics and other LEGO® sets, students will explore, create and problem solve to understand STEM principles such as force, friction and motion. LEGO®—SMART CITY (GIRLS ONLY) Grades: Primer-2 Instructor: Michael Calahan Calling all future designers, architects, city planners, engineers or builders! In this all-girl STEM class, students will design and build their own city. They will then make their city smart and more efficient through the addition of robotic elements to perform various duties and functions. PARISHkicks WEEKLY PRACTICE Grades: K-2 Instructor: Various Coaches Focused on building individual skill and confidence on the ball, this weekly practice is designed to serve players of any ability from beginner to seasoned veteran. Practice will focus on receiving the ball, maintaining possession, efficient and creative ball movement and mastery, and finding the back of the net! Using individual and small group activities, coaches offer maximum touches on the ball within fun, competitive games. These practices are designed and run by Parish soccer coaches and are a great way to supplement a player’s skill development. This class is located at the Midway campus and is outside (weather permitting); please pack the appropriate clothing, shin guards, cleats, ball and a water bottle for your child.

TUESDAY SOCK PUPPET MANIA Grades: PreK-Primer Instructor: Michelle Noah This collaborative class will touch on a range of art forms including visual, performing and literary. Students will work together to build a puppet theatre, craft a script and then make a cast of zany characters out of socks and various adornments. TUMBLING Grades: PreK-K Instructor: Ty Smith This class focuses on tumbling skills: the forward and backward roll, handstand, bridge and cartwheel. Floor mats and mini trampolines will be used in each class. Exercises will emphasize flexibility, speed, spatial awareness and gross motor skills. Students will also get a brief introduction to the uneven bars, beam and vault.

WEDNESDAY GLOBAL SOUND ARTISTS Grades: K-2 Instructor: Shannon O’Brien Level Up Village’s Global Sound Artists takes students on a hands-on journey through the science of sound. During this course, students build their own guitar, spinning drum and pan pipe as they establish an understanding of vibration, pitch and volume. They listen to and learn to appreciate culturally diverse music and exchange video messages each class period with their global partners from across the globe. KARATE Grades: PreK, K-2 Instructor: Chamberlain Studios of Self Defense This is a traditional Karate program emphasizing strikes, kicks, joint locks and take downs. It is geared towards effective self-defense and fitness. Kenpo Karate incorporates the 3-Steps to a Great Kid program, which is a character development curriculum specifically designed to fit within a martial arts program. The class emphasizes respect for instructors, the school and fellow students. All students must have a uniform. THURSDAY BEST OF SPORTS CLINIC Grades: Primer-2 Instructor: Kidokinetics Our Best of Sports Clinic is designed to introduce young boys and girls to a variety of sports in an abbreviated format. Coaches strive to expand children's horizons with the sport offerings and enable them to participate while learning the basics, developing skills and having fun. The clinic is non-competitive, non-contact with a focus on both skills as well as fitness. We will introduce an equal number of sessions for lacrosse, track and field and ultimate Frisbee. CHOIR Grades: Primer-2 Instructor: Riley King This beginner level choir teaches the fundamentals of performing music as a team. Children learn classic choral singing techniques while preparing anthems to sing as an ensemble. Emphasis is on pitch, rhythm, voice placement, choral vowels and 2-part singing. Using songs of all styles and cultures, the focus is on age appropriate musical development. PRE-GRAPHICS Grades: PreK Instructor: Keyboard Kids + SPOTS This class is separated into two, nine week sections. The first section is dedicated to Keyboard Kids. Students learn how to use technology as a tool as they are introduced to keyboarding, technology, reading and writing through the Puterbugs program. Children solve a brand-new computer mission each week and unlock new, beneficial ways to use technology to be productive and solve meaningful problems. The second section is focused on Grasp & Pre-graphics where students work to develop hand skills associated with fine motor movement, handwriting and drawing. THURSDAY MANUSCRIPT + KEYBOARD KIDS Grades: K-2 Instructor: SPOTS + Keyboard Kids This class is separated into two, nine week sections. The first section is dedicated to Manuscript. This class uses tactile, kinesthetic, visual, verbal and olfactory systems to reinforce the stroke pattern. Students will learn the motor plan for each letter group so that formations become automatic. In the second section students work with Keyboard Kids to learn how to use technology as a tool as they are introduced to keyboarding, technology, reading and writing through the Puterbugs program. EXTENDED CARE Extended Care is offered at the Hillcrest camppus for students in PreK-2nd grade from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. daily. PRIVATE MUSIC Grades: PreK-2 Students can choose from a range of lessons including beginner band instruments, guitar, organ, percussion, piano, ukulele, violin and voice. All skill levels are welcome. Hillcrest students will have an opportunity to participate in a recital on April 27 at 6 p.m. in the Transfiguration Performance Hall. • Dates: Spring lessons will start the week of January 9 and will conclude the week of May 15. EXTENDED CARE Extended Care is offered at the Midway campus for students in 3rd-6th grade from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. daily. In addition, we also offer all day care (7:30 a.m.—6:00 p.m.) on parent-teacher conference days and most faculty work days. Enroll one day at a time, by the month or annually. The dates* we will offer in-service, conference or early dismissal care for Midway are as follows: January 3, February 10, April 27 and May 12. *Please note that these dates have changed from last year. We will NOT have care for Midway students on March 3 or May 26. Please plan accordingly.
PRIVATE MUSIC Grades: 3-12 Students can choose from a range of lessons including beginner band instruments, guitar, organ, percussion, piano, ukulele, violin and voice. All skill levels are welcome. Midway students will have an opportunity to participate in a recital on May 11 at 6 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre. • Dates: Spring lessons will start the week of January 9 and will conclude the week of May 15. Lessons are available Monday through Friday after school. Lessons are not held during breaks or in-service days. • Times: 30 minute or one hour lessons are available • Cost: Private instruction fees begin at $525 for a 30 minute lesson each week of the spring. The overall cost depends on the day of the week, length of lesson and instructor selected. Q. Does dance last the full school year?A. Yes, ParishEXTEND Dance Academy courses are a fall and spring commitment. If you enroll inthe fall, you do not need to re-enroll for the spring.
Q.Can my child enroll in a dance class mid-year?A. You may enroll in dance classes mid-year, space permitting, via your ParishEXTEND account.Please use the code DANCE at check-out to prorate the price. All mid-year enrollments mustbe completed by January 20, 2017.
Q. Will there be a dance informational meeting?A. There was a dance informational meeting on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. If you areenrolling mid-year and have specific dance questions, please contact Jessica Robinson [email protected].
Q. What does my child need to wear to dance?A. Dance attire varies by class and by age group. Those in PreK and Kindergarten do notchange and will wear their uniforms to class. All other dancers will need to reference the dancehandbook for specific attire requirements. For your convenience approved dance apparel cannow be purchased at the PAWS store. Q. Is there an end of year performance?A. Yes, there is an end of year performance on May 6, 2017 at The Black Academy of Arts andLetters. Rehearsal will be held the day before the performance. For questions related to theperformance, please email Jessica Robinson at [email protected].
Q.Dance is a yearlong program, do I need to pay all at once?A. Dance is a yearlong commitment, but you can pay for it month to month with a recurringpayment plan setup through UltraCamp. New this year, we've added discounts for studentstaking two or more classes. Discounts range from $160 off your annual total for two classes allthe way up to $1200 off for six classes. These discounts are per child and will automaticallyapply to your cart during checkout.
