Mission Statement: The Lions Club of Springfield and the Lions of Springfield Charitable Foundation, Inc., are service organizations made up of members whose goals are centered on assisting the youth and adults of our community, especially the hearing and visually impaired, and providing assistance for other humanitarian needs. We encourage service-minded people to serve their community through our organization by taking an active interest in the civic, cultural, and social welfare of our community. It is our desire to grow personally and professionally during our service. KING’S KORNER Hello Lions. Past president, Lion Dave Krauter, is chairman of the nomination committee for officers, directors and committee chairpersons. If you are interested in a position contact him as soon as possible. Each year at this time, a Lion who is a resident of Springfield, and has been a member of our club for at least ten years with a record of exemplary volunteer service to our community, is nominated for his or her name to be put on the bronze plaque which is placed on the Springfield Volunteer Memorial Wall. It is my pleasure to select Lion Mike Mingey for this honor. Lion Mike’s volunteer service is listed below. Please encourage Lions to attend our dinner meetings. Hope to see you at the dinner meeting on March 10th. King Lion Tom Mike Mingey joined the Springfield Lions in 2007. Mike has been running the Lottery Calendar fundraiser starting in 2019. He maintained the Email mailing list and did all email blasts since joining and did so for several years. Mike has managed collections from eye glass drop off locations for 5 years. He has been active in all fund-raising activities since joining, and holds the record for single donation collected for 4th July of $1000. Mike also performs the highway cleanup along Sproul Road.
