SPSS 24 MAC INSTALLATION

1. Go to Campus Downloads at http://www.marquette.edu/its/help/downloads/

2. Scroll to SPSS and click the Mac OS X link. Important: SPSS is strictly for academic use.

3. Login to Marquette's Microsoft site with your Marquette.edu email address and password.

4. In your downloads folder, open OS-X-SPSS-24.

5. Double-click SPSS_Statistics_24_mac.dmg.

6. The disk image window will appear. Double-click SPSS_Statistics_Installer.

Note that some Macs are setup to only allow installation from the Mac App Store. If that is the case, then follow these instructions.

a) Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy.b) If you need to, click the lock to make changes and enter your Mac administration password.c) Under “Allow applications downloaded for,” note which setting you have.d) Select anywhere. It will prompt you that this is less secure. Click Allow from anywhere.e) After the installation is complete, go back to the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Security >

Privacy and reinstate the previous security setting.

7. This warning will appear. Click Open.

8. Enter your Mac credentials and click OK.

9. The installation window will appear. Make sure the setting is for “English” and then click OK.

10. The Introduction window will appear. Click Next.

11. The Software License Agreement window will appear. Select Iaccept the terms in the licenseagreement and then click Next.

12. The Python Essentials window will appear. Select Yes and then click Next.

13. The License Agreement window will appear. Select Iaccept the terms of the License Agreementand click Next.

14. Another License Agreement window will appear. Select Iaccept the terms of the LicenseAgreement and click Next.

15. The Choose Install Folder window will appear. Click Next.

16. The Pre-Installation Summary window will appear. Click Install. The installer will run and takeseveral minutes.

17. After the installation has been completed, the InstallComplete window will appear.Check Start IBM SPSS Statistics 24 now and click Done.

18. The Licensing window will appear. Click License Product.

19. The License Status window will appear. Click Next.

20. The Product Authorization window will appear. Select Authorized user license… and click Next.

21. Return to the folder from which you launched the SPSS Installer. (It’s in your Downloads folder.)Open License Code.txt.

22. The text document will open. Highlight the text and copy it (Control+click, select copy).

23. Return to the License Activation window. Paste the key into the designated box and click Next.

24. The Authorization window will appear. Click Next.

25. The Licensing Complete window will appear. Click Finish.

26. Open up SPSS. Congratulations! You’ve successfully installed and activated SPSS 24 for Mac.
