Nth will perform a detailed assessment and review of the SQL environment including the Microsoft Windows Cluster. This assessment will provide an all-inclusive examination of database configuration, performance, and general health. At the end of the assessment process, we will present you with all of our findings and recommendations for physical and virtual server and storage tiers of the environment.

Assessment process:

• Identify your existing challenges concerning performance and availability• Understand your application’s interaction with databases and data access patterns • Validate backup and recovery procedures• Review hardware configuration to identify bottlenecks and areas of contention o Disk I/O latency o Cursory Review of network utilization o RAM Usage o CPU Utilization o Top wait SQL inquiries o Top long-running SSIS Packages• Verify release and patch levels• Log Review – Examine all logs for alerts and important messages • Review of transaction logs for optimal size and bottlenecks• I/O distribution analysis – I/O details for databases data files and transaction logs• TEMP space – Review tempdb to ensure optimal sizing • Database objects check • Access security gaps
