    Student Representatives(class/course reps)www.glasgowstudent.net/about/studentreps/

The SRC represents students at many levels throughoutthe University, and if you are considering gettinginvolved, your first step could be to become a studentrepresentative for your course.

Student Representatives allow students to air theirviews to the academics running their department onissues like course content, teaching and resources. They also operate as a part of the SRC, meaning thatany recurring problems can be passed through fromStudent Reps to Faculty Reps and to the Vice President(Learning & Development) who can take further actionon behalf of the students.

Every class should have a student representative whose job is to try to resolve issues raised, by discussingthem with staff and students. They will normally sit ona staff/student committee held once a month but cango to staff at any time to discuss issues raised withthem by classmates. Theyll mainly deal with problemsabout timetabling of lectures or essay deadline clashes

but will also be involved in disputes about teachingquality and other departmental problems.

Student Reps are supported by the SRC, receivingtraining as well as advice and support on morecomplicated matters. If they identify major problemsacross a department or faculty then they can pressureUni management to make changes. If you have anyproblems with your course or departmental staff thenyour student rep should be your first port of call.
