SReXperts EMEA 2016 Streams

Delivering Ultra-broadband

Web-scale Mobile Core

Software Defined Business Services and Data Center

IP Infrastructure & Technology

Transportation, Energy & Public Sector

There is insatiable demand for mobile, video and cloud-based services. This stream explores the key functionality that Nokia provides allowing operators to evolve their network to deliver these new ultra-broadband services in an efficient flexible way. This stream will provide platform and feature updates on the 7705 SAR and 7210 SAS. This stream will also include 7750 SR solution updates for: Broadband Network Gateway (BNG), virtual CPE, WLAN Gateway, Security Gateway and Application Assurance.

The current generation of wireless packet core networks has been exceptionally successful in delivery of a mobile service enjoyed today. Ironically it the evolve packet core architecture is also facing a combination of new innovations and disruptions. These new technologies include Internet of things (IoT), Narrow-band (NB) LTE for IoT, emerging 5G technology, private mobile radio (PMR). These new developments create new business use cases and models. Intertwined, there are new approaches to building networks functions that have web-application scale and agility. New cloud architectures offer the benefit to use commodity data-center infrastructure to deliver the next mobile-web core. The sessions will delve into the Service Domain and consider approaches to Gi Service Chaining, service steering and optimization of web and video content delivery.

This track will deal with the evolution and transformation of business services under the influence of Software Defined Networking (SDN). Objective is to bring the policy-driven cloud-based consumption model to enterprise business services. Nuage Networks Virtualized Network Services (VNS) is a complementary service to existing IP and Carrier Ethernet (CE) VPN services. We will explore the Nuage VNS and many 7750 SR multi-service edge enhancements as well as thin CPE. This track will also cover topics related to virtualizing data center network services. Nuage Virtualized Services Platform (VSP) lays the foundation for an open and dynamically controlled datacenter network fabric. We will cover enhancements in the latest release of the Nuage VSP as well as what our partners bring to the solution. Management of virtualized networking is a new challenge, so we will address it with a discussion of the Nuage Virtual Service Assurance Platform (VSAP). Data center interconnection as well DC architecture will be handled in depth as well as an update on E-VPN and service chaining.

This track will provide an update on the key IP Infrastructure products for Service Provider networks, including 7750 SR, 7950 XRS, 5620 SAM and the new Virtualized Service Router (VSR).This track will also feature technology updates on topics such as the evolution of IP/Optical integration, traffic steering and the role and integration of Netconf/Yang into the SR OS.

This stream is focused on Critical Infrastructure Networks for railways air navigation , utility, public safety, defense and state and local government organisations. Customers from various industries will be sharing their experiences in moving from legacy networks to IP/MPLS. This stream will also provide more insight in best practices for network migration, implementing cybersecurity and providing resilience to mission critical communication systems. Furthermore this stream will look at the evolution of technologies such as LTE, WiFi, and SDN and how they can help advance telecommunications for the various industries. Last but not least this stream will also provide key Nokia product roadmap information pertaining to the Transportation, Energy and Public Sector industries.

Extending the Datacenter Network beyond Server Connectivity (Wed pm

only)

Software applications have evolved from being monolithic to highly modular and distributed - both geographically and functionally. As such, one application is often a composition of ten maybe a hundred objects that can be placed, auto-scaled and upgraded independently. Virtual Machines are not an adequate technology anymore for this development paradigm. Instead, the developers and operational people make use of container technology, and use higher-order frameworks such as Kubernetes or OpenShift to manage such deployments. They also deploy those applications using a mix of private and public cloud, or distribute some of the intelligence directly at a remote offices. It will be no surprise that the networking aspect of such deployments is more complex. Flexibility, scalability and security are topmost concerns to the business owner. During this interactive breakout session we will discuss these challenges in further detail and will elaborate on how the Nuage Networks provides a consistent framework to addresses them.

Network Scale and Efficiency

• The pervasiveness of IP demands the technologies be packaged in a wide range of configurations and form factors to address the performance/cost ratios required throughout a network- Networks are the essential link for consumers and business. But they need to evolve and deliver

even more service value. They need to scale bigger and scale faster

- The 7950 is designed for the core, the 7750 for the service edge . The 7210 provides Carrier Ethernet access while the 7450 provides aggregation and transport of same. The 7705 supports legacy to IP network transformation and is a popular choice at cell sites for IP backhaul

Rome is a rich and wondrous city, full of secrets that hide many of her treasures. Walking has always been the way to discover those treasures, and so, today, we follow the age-old adage and we "do as the Romans do!“ With our expert guide we go off the beaten track to discover charming squares, beautiful fountains, ancient bridges, medieval quarters and architectural surprises. We stroll to the curious and picturesque Tiber island on the Tiber River, through the historic ghetto, and then, only minutes away, the unique Piazza Farnese to see the most splendid Renaissance palace in all Italy, one that Michelangelo himself decorated.

Our next stop is the very elegant Piazza Navona with its 17th-century baroque trimmings. The fountains and churches and residential palaces, the artists and caricaturists and the sidewalk cafes make this square the theatre of Rome." We continue to the

1900-year-old Pantheon, a pagan temple built by Agrippa in 27 BC and redesigned by Emperor Hadrian in about 118 before reaching the Trevi Fountain, the largest Baroque fountain in the city and the most beautiful in the world. A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome.

After the tour, you will be taken back to the Marriott Rome Park Hotel in time for our welcome reception in the exhibition.

The cost of this 3-hour tour is 53.25€ per person and includes bus transfer with an English speaking guide. You will be invoiced by Conference Contacts and payments can be made by any major credit card.

If you haven’t signed up for the tour yet during your event registration, please note that the tour is currently sold out. If you still wish to participate, please come and see us at the registration desk on Monday morning and we’ll be able to tell you if we had any last minute cancellations.

Networking DinnerTuesday, June 7

19:00 Departure from hotel19:30 Arrival at studios22:30 Return to the hotel

Join us for an unforgettable evening at Cinecittà Studios, which is the largest film studio in Europe, spreading over an area of 40 hectares with its 22 stages, 2 permanent tents, 300 dressing rooms and offices, 21 makeup areas and a 7,000 square meters outdoor tank. All dreams can come true in Cinecittà. The Cinecittà studios have been making films for 70 years, including many of the classic epics like Ben Hurand Cleopatra. They are the only studio in the world with pre-production, production and full post-production facilities on one lot - so you can walk in with your script and walk out with a completed film.

The Beginning of CinecittàCinecittà was opened by Mussolini in April 1937, with the intention of promoting Italy and the current fascist ideals through cinema. The complex, in south-east Rome, was designed as a complete centreof production, with facilities covering everything from training, through the production of

films, to post-production. Within six years, almost 300 films had been made at the new studios, assisted by the Alfieri Law, introduced in 1939, which was designed to assist home-grown film production.

Walk in the Foot Steps of CaesarYou will arrive with coaches and be welcomed by Roman legionnaires as you walk onto the outdoor set that reproduces in 4 hectares Rome at the Time of Caesar. Walk the streets, as Caesar would have walked them. But be careful, as you never know when a gladiator battle will unfold around the corner, you get mixed up in a legionnaires’ military maneuver or you simply enjoy the performance of some true Roman dancers. For those of you wanting to learn a few true Gladiator moves, you can participate in a gladiator school and learn some true ancient Roman gladiator techniques. Dining in the Rome of 2000 years ago, faithfully reconstructed in a surreal atmosphere, is a unique and memorable experience in itself.

Benvenuto in Italia!Rome (Italian: Roma), the Eternal City, is the capital and largest city of Italy and of the Lazio region. It's the famed city of the Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita (the sweet life), the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain. Rome, as a millennium-long centre of power, culture (having been the cradle of one of the globe's greatest civilisations ever) and religion, has exerted a huge influence over the world in its roughly 2800 years of existence.

The historic centre of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With wonderful palaces, millennium-old churches, grand romantic ruins, opulent monuments, ornate statues and graceful fountains, Rome has an immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of Europe's and the world's most visited, famous, influential and beautiful capitals. Today, Rome has a growing nightlife scene and is also seen as a shopping

heaven, being regarded as one of the fashion capitals of the world (some of Italy's oldest jewelry and clothing establishments were founded in the city).

With so many sights and things to do, Rome can truly be classified a "global city".

AirportsRome has two main international airports:• Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino International

Airport- Rome's main airport is modern, large, rather efficient and well connected to the city centre by public transport.

• Pastine/Ciampino International Airport-This is the city's low-cost airline airport, serving Easyjet, Ryanair and Wizzair flights, among others.

ClimateThe climate in Rome is warm and temperate. In winter, there is much more rainfall in Rome than in summer. The average daytime

temperate in June is around 230C.

CurrencyIn Italy, as in most of Western Europe, the official currency is the Euro (€). Changing money into Euro is expensive in Italy as exchange bureau fees are high. It is advisable to exchange your money before you arrive. Banks will only exchange currency for their own customers. Paying with travellerscheques is no longer accepted and they are almost impossible to change. ATMs are widespread. Major credit cards are widely accepted but some smaller shops, trattorias, and pensioni (small hotels or guesthouses) might not take them.

Dress CodeThe dress code for the SReXperts is business casual. For the evening events it’s casual.

Practical Information

37 © Nokia 2016

Electricity/VoltageElectricity in Italy conforms to the European standard of 220V to 230V, with a frequency of 50Hz. Wall outlets typically accommodate plugs with two or three round pins (the latter grounded, the former not).

HealthcareItaly has a public health system that is legally bound to provide emergency care to everyone. EU nationals are entitled to reduced-cost, sometimes free, medical care with a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), available from your home health authority; non-EU citizens should take out medical insurance. For emergency treatment, you can go to the pronto soccorso (casualty) section of an ospedale (public hospital). For less serious ailments call the Guardia Medica. If you need an ambulance, call 118.

Pharmacies are marked by a green cross, farmacie (pharmacies) and are open from 8.30

to 13.00 and 16.00 to 19.30 Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings. Outside these hours they open on a rotational basis, and all are legally required to post a list of places open in the vicinity. If you think you’ll need a prescription while in Rome, make sure you know the drug’s generic name rather than the brand name. Regular medications are available over the counter – such as antihistamines or paracetamol – but they tend to be expensive in Italy.

LanguageIn Rome, obviously, the population speaks Italian. English is widely spoken in Rome by the younger generations and by people working in the tourist industry.

Marriott Rome Park Parking4€ hourly, 12€ daily

RestaurantsRomans love to eat. And they love to eat good

food. The city centre has obviously the highest concentration of tourists so it can quite easy to fall into the tourist traps but if you see a restaurant packed with locals, go for it, as you can't be wrong. Most likely, it will be a good place. In Rome, you'll find out that Italians are more than just pasta and pizza. Please refer to the Appendix section for a complete list of restaurant suggestions put together for you. If you need help making a reservation, the concierge at your hotel will be happy to help you or offer you more choices if needed.

ShoppingRome in an expensive city, so don't expect to find too many bargains. Nevertheless, window shopping is a joy and you will find good value for money, especially if buying leather goods (shoes, bags, gloves and belts) and certain decorative items (lamps, Italian modern designer goods and glassware).

Practical Information

SmokingIn Rome, smoking is prohibited at public transportation stops and shelters as well as clubs, pubs and restaurants unless they have separate room for smokers. Not respecting this risks the offender receiving a fine.

Stay SafeRome is not a dangerous city but road safety is an issue. The highway code is obeyed with discretion, so don’t take it for granted that cars and scooters will stop at pedestrian crossings, or even at red lights. There are also plenty of scams and pickpocketing that target tourists. As in any other big city, it is better if you don't look like a tourist: don't exhibit your camera and keep your money in a safe place. Consciousness and vigilance are your best insurances for avoiding becoming a victim of a crime in Rome. Remember, if you are pickpocketed or victim of another scam, don't be afraid to shout, "Aiuto, al ladro!" (Help, Thief!). Carabinieri (black uniform, red striped

trousers) are military police while the Polizia(blue and grey uniform) are civilians, but they both do essentially the same thing. If you are robbed, try to find a police station ("commissariato") and report it. This is essential to establishing a secure insurance claim and to replace documents: the chances of it resulting in the return of your possessions are, however, fairly remote. In case of an emergency, there is only one number to remember: 112

TaxisTaxis authorized by Municipality of Rome and the Municipality of Fiumicino are white with a “TAXI” sign on the roof and a license number on the doors, on the back and inside the vehicle. PLEASE NOTE: Any other vehicle at the airport exit could be driven by persons not in possession of a valid taxi or car hire permit and the tariff requested may be higher, or in any case different from that foreseen by the Municipality of Rome. In the event of a

problem or dispute, call Traffic Wardens at the number of 0667104282 or send an e-mail to [email protected] and report it on the site www.turismoroma.it.

TippingRomans are not big tippers. In taxis tipping is optional, but most people round up to the nearest Euro. In restaurants the service (servizio) is generally included; if it's not, a Euro or two is fine in pizzerias, 10% in restaurants. In bars it is not necessary, although many people leave small change if drinking at the bar.

Time ZoneRome is in the Europe Central time zone (GMT +1). During the period from March to October, it is 'summer time'.

TransportationSightseeing Rome on foot is indeed an exhausting enterprise. The public transport system of the underground, trams and buses gets you to the major tourist sites and attractions quicker. Bearing this in mind, we suggest purchasing a Roma Pass, costing 36 Euros and entitling card holders to use public transport for three days running, as well as benefit from discounts in museums, at tourist sites, shops and theatres.

Elastic Video DeliveryWith the increased deployment of virtualised network functions (VNFs) and functionality moving to the cloud, Nokia's Elastic Video Delivery products allow resources to be allocated more flexibly, when and where they are needed to help customers better manage the changes in traffic that they are seeing. For example, during a major sporting event or incident, the provider can dynamically provision virtualized machines in minutes rather than weeks or months and cache popular content closer to users to better manage video traffic over their networks. Once demand has slowed, extra capacity can be released and used on other applications or services. The demonstration shows an Elastic Content Distribution Network (CDN) dynamically scaling up and down video streaming capacity while a Nuage controlled Software Defined Network (SDN) automatically provisions and configures the required network connectivity inside the Data Centre.

Just up the hill from the Trevi fountain the Vineria il Chianti’s vine-clad exterior reveals a low-lit wine bar with a romantically rustic interior. The menu, as well as many of the wine bottles that line the walls, comes from Tuscany and includes veal meatballs, lamb chops and home made pasta as well as excellent pumpkin tortellini with mint and pappardelle with a rich wild boar – there have been introduced recently several dishes of the Roman cuisine and at night you can also have pizza. Service is good and prices are reasonable.AddressVia del Lavatore 81Telephone +39 06 6787550Location Trevi Fountain

La Matricianellahttp://www.matricianella.itWith its gingham tablecloths, chintzy murals and fading prints, Matricianella is an archetypal trattoria, much loved for its traditional Roman cuisine. Its loyal clientele go crazy for ever-green crowd-pleasers like battered vegetables, artichoke alla giudia (fried, Jewish style), and saltimbocca (veal cutlet with ham and sage). Booking is essential. Attentive service – moderate prices.
