CREATION OF A PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST - NECESSITY & THE BACKGROUNDStriving hard most of the time relentlessly for material gains to satisfy the urge of the senses, unaware of itstemporal nature and dire consequences in the end, man has locked himself in the darkness of ignoranceabout his Ownself, the Indweller and the Matter around him. It is at this stage, the Hari Dasas come to ourrescue with powerful torches in their hands showing the way out from darkness to light. Having inspired by

his Master, Late Sri Guru Govinda Vittala Dasaru of Mysore, a direct descendent in the Hari Dasa lineage of Sri Purandara Dasaru,Sri Vijaya Dasaru & so on, Sri Hari Narayana Vittala Das has thought it wise and befitting to give a shape to his long cherished strongdesire of establishing a National Spiritual Centre to impart knowledge for the benefit of the humanity, the result of which is theusherence of ‘Hari Dasa Sadhan Kendra’ (Hari Dasa Spiritual Centre) called “Sri Purandara Ashrama” under the auspices of “SriPurandara Vittala Seva Trust”, a registered Public Charitable Trust, established with its location near Om Nagar Bus Stop on theoutskirts of Chinna Tumbalam Village, Adoni-Taluk, Kurnool Dist., abutting the state highway between Adoni-Raichur and Adoni-Madhavaram-Mantralayam, in the A.P - Karnataka border in an area of 11.54 acres, entirely donated to the Trust by its founder-member Hari Narayana Vittala Das.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE AREA CHOSENThis area of land is selected mainly because of its calm and serene atmosphere endowed with natural radiating waves of healthy andspiritual streams of thoughts, besides being significantly surrounded by more than 12 Pilgrim centers like the world renownedMantralayam, the abode of Sri Guru Raghavendra, which is in a close proximity of 24 Kms.

SRI SODE VADIRAJ MA TA SWAMIJI’S VISIT T O THE SITEH.H.Sri Vishwottama Teertha Swamiji, the Peetadhipati of Sri Vadiraj Mata was kind enough tovisit this place on 6-12-2005. Having fully satisfied with the location and its surroundings, Swamijifelt extremely happy and opined that this Project is going to be a grand success - success beyond theexpected levels in serving the society at large in all respects.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN A SHORT SPAN OF TIMEa) Two Borewells were already dug to provide water facilities for construction and other activities.

The water is sweet & hygienic.b) Electrical power supply obtained and a Transformer exclusively for Ashrama use has been

installed.c) A temple with the idols of Lord Srinivasa, Anjaneya Swamy, the Holy Mrittika Brundavanam

of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy and an idol of the Great Sage & Bhaktiyogi-Narada's incarnation, Sri Purandara Dasaru, thePioneer of the Haridasa Movement, is under construction and it will be open to the devotees for worship by the middle of 2007.d) Opening Ceremony of the Administrative Building of the Trust is fixed for 25-01-2007 to accomodate Office/Devotees/Trustees.

THE MAIN OBJECTIVES & THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES IN ORDER OF PRIORITYa) Collection and preservation of the entire Haridasa literature.b) Establishment of a Study and Research Centre for the propagation of the teachings of Haridasas in six languages viz., English,

Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil & Marati for the benefit of the people of their respective regions by a team of dedicated andhighly capable Scholars.

c) Establishment of a Library, Vidya Peetha, Yoga & Meditation Centre, Sadhana Oriented Old Age Homes, Health Centres.d) Occupation Oriented Training Cum-Professional Centre and Educational Institutions, mainly to cater to the needs of the

Rural Population around the Ashrama and nearby Villages.e) A fully equipped Community Hall and Cottage Complex for the inmates of the Ashrama and also to the visitors and guests.f) Tulasi & Pushpa Vana and growing up of important & Spiritually Significant Trees & Plants to achieve the Environmental

Purity.g) Construction of a holy Tank called Sri Purandara Pushkarani for storage of water & for the purpose of bathing to perform rituals.h) Construction of a suitable structure to perform rituals like Apara Karma etc.i) Any other useful proposal by the devotees within the frame work of the Trust is also acceptable for implementation.
