First Visit to the Village• Start the meeting with a heartfelt Prayer
• Explain Bhagawan’s mission briefly-Water Projects , Hospitals, Educational Institutions and other services.
• Explain the spirit of volunteerism in the form of
Sevadal Services and that we expect nothing from them.
• That we believe in the concept of “Manava Sevaye Madhava Seva”
• Clearly detail the purpose of your visit – that we have come only to organize provision of pure drinking water for their good health

First Visit to the Village• Tell them there is no need to donate
money. Seek only their co-operation and Shrama-Dhaan
• Talk about the ill effects of drinking contaminated water. Related health issues.
• Motivate them with narratives of great transformation in other villages because of clean drinking water
• Tell them the cost would be only Rs 2 per 20 liters per day as against Rs 15 to Rs 20 per Lit in market

First Visit to the Village• This cost of Rs 2 would be sufficent to
meet operational costs – Salary, Electricity, Maintenance, Repairs etc.
• In addition they would be able to save enough money to carry out welfare programs in their village, like providing food to the poorest of poor and elderly, medical needs, educational needs, shelter and for festivals of the village

Need Identification – Analysing Water• Take water samples in one litre clean
pet bottles from various sources in the village.
• It is important to lable the bottle properly with date and source location
• Identify a recognized analytical lab – Public or Private
• Send the samples for analysis to determine if they are contaminated

Need Identification – Analysing Water• Analyze for Fluoride, Total Dissolved
Solids, Hardness, Arsenic, Bacteria, Iron etc
• Send the Analysis report to the All India Techno Group Coordinator for evaluation
• The Techno group will determine the type and capacity of the plant, which is normally calculated on the basis of 5 liters of water per person per day

Resources Identification• Note the time when Single and 3-Phase
power supply is available and enquire about voltage fluctuations
• Map the number of water sources in the village. Make sure they are sufficient and reliable?
• Check for any old building room of size – 12x10 or 12x14 ft is available Or a suitable site for constructing a room. Try and use existing infrastructure to limit costs
• Identify responsible and active elders and youth of the village. Involve them from the start

Role of Techno Group• The Techno group will determine the
type and capacity of the plant, which is normally calculated on the basis of 5 liters of water per person per day
• Techno group prepares a comprehensive report on viability and fund need.
• It will contain the details of funding by Central and State trusts
• The State trust/SSSO to supervise the civil works, electrical works at site.

Role of Techno Group• Remember the Central Trust will
release funds only when the State Trust confirms completion of Infrastructure site works.
• The report will be sent to All India President for coments and approval
• Once approved by AIP, the Techno Group Coordinator will visit the identifed village
• A Construction plan and Cost Estimate will be made with the approval of the concerned State President

Gaining Villager’s Confidence and Trust• Conduct Sarva Dharma Bhajans/Nagar
Sankaeertan
• Conduct Medical camps or take up Service Projects
• If possible take them to the nearest WPS to get a good first hand experience of the project and its benefits

For the Water Purification Plant• Identify a water source or two close
to the plant.
• The plant itself should be in the middle of the village, convinient for all
• Involve the villagers in doing both small and big tasks for the plant. Make them feel its their own

DeployVillage Committee• Form a village Water Committee
comprising men, women and youth- two each
• Member of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation or anyone associated with the Organisation should stay away from all financial transactions and nomination of persons.
• The bank account itself should NOT be associated with Bhagawan’s name in any form
• Sevadal’s role would be limited to reviews once the plant is operational

DeployInauguration of the Plant • Once the plant is setup ensure it is
running well by doing several dry runs and wet runs.
• A person from the village should be employed to take care of the complete operations of the plant on a day-to-day basis
• For the inauguration itself, make the mood festive, invite the local collector and other Govt officials
• Reiterate our purpose of doing this, the benefits they would see.
And gracefully step aside for Swami’s Grace to flow in the form of Sai Ganga.
