Sri Veda Vyasa Puja & Chatur Masya Vrata Sankalpa 12th July 2014.

वेदव्यासं स्वात्मरूपं सत्यसन्धं परायणम।् शान्तं जितेजन्ियक्रोध ंसशशष्यं प्रणमाम्यहम।्।

Sri Swamiji is observing Chatur Masya Vratham in Mumbai, Chembur Sri Sringeri Saradha Pitham 12th July to 09th September 2014. After receiving Sri Sannidanam’s blessings at Sringeri on 24th & 25th June, and immediately after concluding the Vedapuri Ashram Perunthiruvizha on 09th July, Sri Swamiji reached Mumbai on 10th July. En route, Sri Swamiji sought the blessings of Sri Swami Paramarthananda at Chennai.

Sri Swamiji was accorded a warm welcome at Sri Sringeri Saradha Pitham on 11th July 2014, at 05:30 pm.

After Veda parayanam, compeered by Sri Natarajan, the evening function started with a prayer and welcome speech in Sanskrit and Tamil by Sri Gopalakrishnan.

Sri Swamiji spoke for ten minutes about the importance of Chatur Masyam and he recalled his meeting and the grace of Sri Sannidanam.

With the grace of Adiguru and Sri Guru Parampara, Sri Veda Vyasa Puja and Vrata Sankalpa was conducted on 12th July 2014.

As per tradition, the Avahanam of lineage of Gurus were done on lemons which were arranged in a specific order called Vyasa Mandalam. A total of 40 Gurus, in eight mandalams, with five Gurus per mandalam, were invoked and worshipped with reverence.

More than 150 devotees had come to witness the continuance of tradition that has withstood for centuries. They felt blessed and fortunate to be with their Guru on this auspicious day.

Sri Swamiji performed the Puja, assisted by Vaidikas from Pudukottai and other places reciting Veda mantras. The devotees, many of them witnessing such a Puja tradition for the first time were immersed in bakthi and devotion.

For many, it was a divine experience beyond words to witness the lineage of Gurus being remembered, named and worshipped. Sri Swamiji took the Vrata Sankalpa and the devotees present assured him proper care, assistance and service.

Sri Datta Paduka Puja was performed. After the Vedic pundits were honoured, Sri Swamiji explained the significance of Sri Gurupurnima and the reason behind Sanyasis observing Chatur Masya Vratham during his Anugraha Bhashanam.

This was followed by Guru Vandanam, with Puja being performed for our Guru and blessings sought for the general welfare of all. Biksha Vandanam was performed and Vastra danam was performed by many devotees. Annadanam was arranged for all.

Manthrakshatha prasadam was given by Sri Swamiji to all devotees, after the Punar Puja in the evening, at 06:15 pm.

Sri Swamiji will be conducting Paduka Puja on all days till 09th September, and will accept Biksha Vandanam (except on Ekadasi days). Sri Swamiji’s vasthram is available (Rs 900/-). The present tentative schedule is: 07:00 am to 08:00 am Isavasyopanishad Class Biksha Vandanam can be offered after the class 09:30 am to 11:00 noon Sri Datta Paduka Puja (Rs 1000/-),

07:00 pm to 08:15 pm Srimad Bhagawad Gita Class We expect prior information from devotees for performing Sri Datta Paduka Puja.
