Gujarat Council of School Education (GCSE), Samagra Shiksha, Education Department ofGovernment of Gujarat invites EoI for establishing LBD (Learning by Doing) centres inGovernment Upper primary Schools within the State of Gujarat.

Interested agencies can download EoI and further amendments if any freely available on

www.ssagujarat.org and submit the same physically at Samagra Shiksha on or before due

date & time of the EoI.

Obiectives of Expression of Interest (EoD:

The promotion of STEM education aims to develop students to become lifelong learners ofscience, technology and mathematics, enabling thern to meet the challenges in the 2lstcenfury, and from a wider perspective, nurturing versatile talents with different levels ofknowledge and skills

Samagra Shiksha Gujarat is willing to explore more ideas to develop practical skills among

the student at school level through establishing LBD centres in Government Upper primary

Schools of Gujarat. The main objectives of this EOI are as follows:

o To appoint agency to conceptualize, design and operate LBD centres

o To explore new apparatus, equipment and ideas available along with advance way ofexplaining the concept to the students

. To develop scientific attitude, curiosity and higher order thinking among the students

o Activities where 40 students get the opportunity to work together at a time of class 6tr

to 8tro To explore more durable, easy to handle and easily available equipment

Introduction of Learnins bv Doing (LBD) centre:

Samagra Shiksha Gujarat is planning to establish Learning-by-Doing (LBD) centres to develop practical

skill among the students of Class 6*,7h and 8tr of Government schools. LBD Centre is a place where

students will get the experience of performing hands on activities and build their conceptual

understanding abopt different topics they studied in their text book of Science and MathErnatics. LBDCentre will provide the platfonn to develop the scientific attitude among the students. In LBD Centre

science and maths kits will be available. Demonstration material/ models/ charts will also be available

there. Some local available material will be provided to shape the thought by the students and kits willbe provided which will be used by the subject teacher as Teaching Learning Material (TLM). LBD

Centre have the Science and Maths literature to develop scientific temperament among the students.Posters of famous scientists and mathematicians will be displayed to motivate the students.

Elieibilitv Criteria: Interested agency will have to full filI the following eligibility criteriafor participation in the process of establishing and running of LBD centres:

Qualifying agencies as per the eligibilify criteria given above will be called fordemonstration of lab setup.

Scope of work:

Learning by Doing (LBD) centre should be a work space where young minds can give shapeto their ideas through hands on do-it-yourself mode; and learn innovation skills. Youngchildren should get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts ofSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education.

o Agency needs to submit Blueprint, design & drawing 9f the Learning by Doing(LBD) centre to clearly showcase all components of the activity centre.

. Agency need to provide manual and videos in Hindi/English/Guj arati at the time ofdemonstration

. Agency need to provide manual and videos in Gujarati at the time of establishment oflab in schools.

. Interested participantl agency should create Learning by Doing (LBD) centre in theschool selected Samagra Shiksha. Agency need to display an ilrangement forstandard lab which cover all the syllabus of Maths and science and STEM activitiesfor class 6ft to 8ft

. Agency can showcase innovative models mapped with syllabus and hands onactivities

Methodologv of demonstration:

. Agency will be provided room size of 20ft x 20ft for demonstration and to give adetailed presentation of the oflered Lab set up.

o Samagra Shiksha, GCSE, shall provide I allot location for presentation cumdemonstration of offered Lab set up. i

o Agency will have to demonstrate the offered Lab set up by installing all the requiredcomponents within the time limit grven in the EoI. The cost of the preparalion of EoIas well a$ arranging presentation cum demonstration should be borne by the agencyonly on No Cost No Commitment basis.

o An expert committee will be formed by GCSE, S to study/evaluate the proposedmoiiels and to select the best and cost-effective technology platform/products etc.from all proposed solution.

o This EoI does not commit Samagra Shiksha to award a contract or to engage in

negotiations.

o Samagra Shiksha, GCSE reserrves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals

without assigning any reasons whatsoever. Samagra Shiksha, GCSE decision in this

matter will be final'

Evaluation Criteria:

Committee will ask the agency to demonstrate one or more activities from the syllabus ofMathematics and Science of class 6fr,7* and 8ft of Government Upper primary School.

Demonstration done by agencies will be evaluated based on following criteria:

Technical Proposal submission:

As a part of EoI, agency will have to submit eligibility documents along with the

following:

o Technical solution write-upo Technical Literature/brochures of offered Lab set up along with Data Sheets.

. Agency need to submit list of proposed equipment with make & models of all the items

along with technical specifications as per table given below. This will be verified at the

time of demonstration also.
