Rita has prepared a Manager’s Spring Letter outlining some helpful tips. The Owners of Simcoe Standard Condominium Corporation 354 Annual General Meeting : Thursday April 14, 2011, Kempenfelt Room, registration is at 6:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served. This is an owners’ meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to: effect the election of Directors for the board, receive Auditor’s report & appoint the Auditor for the upcoming year, approve the minutes from the Turnover Meeting and By-Law Meeting, address other business that may come before the meeting. Are you interested in joining the Board? We have two vacant board positions. This is your opportunity to get involved in our community. Fill out a short resume and submit it to Rita at the Management Office. Motions from the floor will also be accepted. Not Able to Attend -- Vote By Proxy If you are unable to be present at the meeting, please complete, sign and return your proxy form. Your vote is important. We need 25% of owners to vote to have a quorum. If you need a proxy form, contact or pick up one at the property management office. If we do not have a quorum we will need to incur the expense of notification of another meeting. Please take the time to fill out a proxy if you are not able to join us. be parked during this operation. The builder will advise as to the timing. Warmer weather is needed before starting this process.
All inside work continues to move forward with monthly reviews and sign offs by your Board.
Window Cleaning: It is planned to be scheduled for May.
Nautica web site: Both towers now have access to our website: www.nauticacommunity.ca. No password is required.

“SIGN IN” FOR POOL USAGE
An important reminder for residents to sign-in each time they use the pool. No -- "Big Brother" is not watching! As per Ontario’s Pool Regulations (Section 8c), every operator must keep a sign-in log setting out the total number of bathers admitted to the pool each day. The Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit monitors the Pool Operations usage, and the Corporations may be fined if they are not in compliance with the regulations. The information regarding the number of bathers is required in order to maintain healthy pool facilities and to determine how much water must be drained and clean 'make-up' water must be added daily.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE
NOTE: Residents of both towers are welcome to join in all social events. If anyone in either tower wishes to
participate in the planning and implementation of events, please contact Lynda at 705-727-0078.
NEW ACTIVITIES:
Rama Trip: Join the residents of Grand Harbour on the second Wednesday of the month, 9:30 am to approximately 4:00 pm. $5.00 includes bus, lunch, and tip for the driver. For more information, contact Jan at 705-739-9649.
Book Club: All book lovers are encouraged to come out and discuss their favourite books on the second Tuesday of every month. Perhaps you have found a gem in our library which you would wish to share with others. Yoga: Another 6-week Tuesday morning program begins on April 5th. The Thursday evening group has been cancelled due to insufficient registration. The cost for the Tuesday morning class is $30.00 for 6 weeks. If you wish to drop in for a class, the cost is $10.00. AquaFit Bootcamp: Water exercise is a fantastic cardio and muscle work out that is easy on your joints
and excellent for your abs. A 6 week session started in March on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:15. Cost -- $60.00 for 6 weeks. Call or e-mail Alexa to register – (705) 795-3488 or [email protected] Bingo: Bingo will be held on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 7:00 pm. Cost is 25 cents per card, with a 50/50 prize for each Bingo. Come on out and enjoy an evening of Bingo in the Ellen Room on April 16th. Investment Group: The investment group continues to meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30 PM. in the Ellen Room. The group is a share club in that investment ideas and information are shared among those attending. Mah-jongg: Call Judy at 705-721-9009 to arrange a game.
Pot Luck Dinner: April 22nd (Good Friday). Instead of Pot Luck, it is planned to order Fish and Chips. Look for signup sheet during the prior week. Dinner Club: The next dinner will be held at 1 North Restaurant on Dunlop Street at 6:00 pm on April 30th. All singles are welcome to future dinners and outings. If interested, call Marion at 705-733-8729. Look for the signup sheet in the Podium.
ACTIVITIES BEING PLANNED:
Bicycle Group: There will be a sign up sheet in the Podium shortly for those interested in biking as a group. Movie Nights – As soon as television is installed Stratford Theatre – Watch for information on a group bus visit in the spring.

Please continue to contribute your Beer, Liquor and Wine bottles in the bins provided. These funds will be used to provide snacks for Happy Hour and special events. Thanks again to Steve and Mike for their continued commitment to returning the bottles.
Volunteers are needed to return bottles to the Beer Store on a rotating basis. Two people from each of the two towers are needed. Please call Lynda at 705-727-0078

POSTAL INFORMATION
If you receive a large package through Canada Post and it will not fit in your mailbox, it may be placed by the carrier in one of the two "parcel" boxes at the end of the bank of mailboxes. If you find a key in your mailbox, please use it to open the parcel box, relock the door and place the key back through the slot. (not applicable to couriers or other deliveries)
Also, if you have received mail in your mailbox that is not addressed to you, please mark it as "undeliverable" or "not at this address" and drop it through the management door slot on the Podium 2nd level. Hassey Management has made arrangements that all undeliverable or incorrectly sorted mail will be picked up by the carrier assigned to this building.

Do you have an extra TV sitting around taking up space? The Board & Management has negotiated for complimentary cable in the guest suite; however a television was not budgeted for this year. If you have one that you are discarding, please contact the Management Office
THE ELLEN ROOM
Thank you to everyone who submitted suggestions re-naming the Amenities Room. At the Shared
Facilities Committee meeting, the name "The Ellen Room" was chosen. Peg Hayward of 33 Ellen won the
$25 prize. The Ellen Room name was chosen as Ellen St fronts both properties and defines the location
(ie. it's the party room closest to Ellen Street)

Another ‘sign’ of a stroke is this: ask the person to ‘stick’ out his/her tongue. If the tongue is ‘crooked’, if
it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.
