Masses

at 25%

capacity

register. Online registrations begin

Tuesday morning at 6:00 am for the coming Sunday Masses. We will no longer have the overflow registrations. We can also use the Hall for Sunday Masses. Due to social distancing requirements, we can’t attain full 25% capacity so be sure to pre-register in good time. Confessions

To make Confession more accessible, Fr. Steven has set up a kneeler in the back sacristy and will hear confessions 20

minutes before each Mass - as well as

Saturdays from 4:00 to 4:55 pm. Please note that confessions end 5 minutes before

Mass is to begin. Fr. Steven will sanitize the kneeler after each penitent.

New Petition

Regarding the

Tabernacle

Some parishioners have undertaken an initiative to have Our Eucharistic Lord moved to the centre of the church. Other parishioners have expressed opposition to moving the tabernacle to the centre. On our website we had a petition for either option. We will no longer make these petitions accessible for those who wish to sign. The Parish Council, in the interest of genuine fairness, would like to have a new petition for both options, starting at the same time. We will make this available once we post some of the pros and cons of each option, as well as a cost estimate of moving the tabernacle to the centre. Those who have

already signed either petition will need to

sign again.

Ushers to

monitor

Holy

Communions

We have had issues with individuals trying to walk away with the Eucharist. Unfortunately, Satanists will pose as pious parishioners in order to steal the Eucharist and to use those Hosts in satanic rituals, expressing their hatred for Jesus Christ, truly present in the Eucharist. To help prevent

this from happening, please be sure to

consume in such a way that it is evident

that you have consumed the Host,

stepping 6 feet to the side of the Eucharistic Minister. The ushers will come forward during Sunday Communion time to help ensure no one walks away with a Consecrated Host.

Plant Sale

on Saturday

July 10 in

St. Aidan’s

Parking Lot

Please join us for this event hosted by the CWL of our parish. The Plant Sale will

take place after our morning 9:00 am Mass and last until 12 noon. There will be some really good deals on many plants and flowers. There will be a raffle of a small basket of gardening items. Tickets for the raffle are $2 for one ticket and $5 for three tickets. Value of basket is around $35.

Quality

Family

Time

Contest

Organized by St. Aidan’s Parish Knights of Columbus. To enter this contest, provide a written or video submission on how your family has spent quality time together during the pandemic. During the past year, we’ve all been spending more time with the family in our households and have been separated from our friends and extended families. However, spending more time together doesn’t always mean it is quality time connecting as a family. We’re looking to share examples of ways families have intentionally spent quality time together during the pandemic. The family with the most interesting, fulfilling, relationship-building family event, and good presentation, will win a free dinner for their family, which will be delivered to their home by the Knights of Columbus. This could be some event you have already done as a family or something you will do before the deadline. It could be as simple as sharing a special meal together or you can be creative. The deadline for entering this

contest is Friday July 23rd. See Parish Website for rules and details of this contest.

Society of

St. Vincent de Paul

"By recognizing Christ in our brethren, we are preparing to be recognized by Him at His final return. This is how the Christian community prepares for the Lord's second coming: by focusing on those persons whom Jesus Himself favored, those who are often excluded and ignored by society." (St. John

Paul II - Homily at the Jubilee of the

Disabled, Dec. 3, 2000).

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul rely totally on the generosity of benefactors like YOU in our endeavor to help our neighbor-in-need. It is your kind generosity and goodness that enables the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to carry out its mission and in making St. Aidan’s community a witness to the presence of Christ in serving the poor and the marginalized. Thank you for your continued support. God Bless you.
