St. Ambrose was born in the Fourth Century. He died on April 4, 397.
His feast day is December 7.
He is important because when the Emperor Theodosius was leading a bad life, Ambrose wrote the Emperor that if he did not do public penance, he would be cut off from the church.
He is important to us for helping St. Augustine understand the Christian faith.
He was greatly loved by his people.
