Safeity Ministry Reminder!
The Safety Ministry would like to remind everyone of the importance to make a right turn only out of the church parking lot after Mass. Due to traffic congestion while entering and exiting the parking lot, it is imperative for our parishioners to make a right turn only when leaving Mass.
For those parishioners who are exiting the west parking lot (behind the Parish Center), please do not make a U-turn in front of the church. This only compounds an already dangerous situation. To ensure the safety of our parish community and those around us, the Safety Ministry appreciates your cooperation.

It has come to our attention that there are many baptized Catholics who have become estranged from the Church due to various reasons and circumstances, and are not sure how to return home. We are the Body of Christ, and no one should feel excluded. We want to welcome them back!Pope Francis tells us “The Church does not reject us because she calls everyone, welcomes them, is open even to those furthest from her. When you have the strength to say ‘I want to come home,’ you will find the door open.” (Excerpts from General Audience October 2, 2013.)If you know someone who has stopped coming to Mass for one reason or another, but would like to return to a Catholic faith community, please reach out and offer them the opportunity to meet with a fellow parishioner individually and privately or in a group setting, to learn about and help them to overcome whatever barriers they feel exist that prevent their full participation at Mass.Some of the needs we are aware of include but are not limited to the following:- Marriage situations- Uncertainty about going to Communion- Questions about Church teachings- Fear of rejection- Not knowing how to come back- Desire for more information about Parish life- Concern about limited knowledge of Catechism- Misunderstanding of Catholic beliefs- Belief that forgiveness is not possible- Disillusionment regarding Church mattersLikely there are others – everyone’s situation is different. But we are here, as brothers and sisters in Christ. October is the month of the Rosary. Our Lady has asked us specifically to pray the Rosary daily.During this October St. Ann will be conducting A Family Rosary Challenge: asking each parishioner/family to say one decade (or more) of the Rosary each day in October.
More information on how to say the Rosary and Rosaries will be provided the last weekend of September - Sep 29/30. Please participate and pray for the success of the St. Ann Rosary Challenge. Remember... “The family that prays together, stays together!”
Lectio Divina will be offered on Wednesdays, September 26th, October 10th, October 24th & November 7th in the Learning Center Room 101. Come to any session or all; no preparation is necessary – just bring your Bible. We begin promptly at 7 p.m. and conclude no later than 8:15 p.m.

Retrouvaille is a program for married couples that feel bored, disillusioned, frustrated, or angry in their marriage. Some experience coldness. Others experience conflict in their relationship. The Free Sunday Clinic will open on Sunday, September 30, 2018 (last Sunday of the month) from 9 am - 1 pm. The service is available to those who DO NOT have health insurance and have a health card, issued by the St. Ann's Clinic. We have volunteer medical doctor and nurses available to care for you, and services include preventative care, primary care, urgent care, and others. Please take advantage of this health care ministry, come to the Clinic, and get well. Please call (919) 386-6866 for more information and get your health card today. There is a one-time fee of $50 for an individual or $75 for a family of four and only 300 health cards are issued. Stay tune for the upcoming soon annual free mammogram and free flu shot clinic.

Humility is really a virtue that allows us to keep our relationships in proper order: God first, others second, and myself third. However, we all wrestle with our incompleteness, weakness, and imperfections. Passions and impulses from within can color how we view our lives and distort them. Who among us does not struggle with jealousy, envy, pride, and lust? Then, when we can't have what we desire, we find ourselves angry, greedy, and taking more than we deserve. The downward spiral continues. Even Jesus' disciples, who knew him better than most, argued about who was the greatest. Humbly seeking the wisdom that comes from God and His righteousness is the corrective we need in order to keep ourselves in check.
La humildad es una gran virtud que permite que sus relaciones estén en orden: Dios primero, los demás segundo y usted mismo tercero. Sin embargo, uno puede sufrir con un sentimiento de no estar completo, de ser débil y de lidiar con nuestras imperfecciones.
