PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS
April 14 ~ Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion;|
Brief Thought
Our readings today are all too familiar. We know too
well how the story ends. The challenge for us is to listen
and ponder as if hearing for the first time. “…at the name
of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on
earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” The
cost of discipleship is real. It demands that we be willing
and ready to share His remarkable love for us with others.
Will you trust that the Lord has given you a well-trained
tongue to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them?
Look for an opportunity this week to share your love of
Christ with another.
Good Friday, April 19
The collection on Good Friday is reserved for the Holy
Land Shrine and will be send to the Archdioceses of Bos-
ton.
Clergy Funds
At Easter, we honor and celebrate our Scalabrinian
priests of The Missionaries of Saint Charles. The Easter
offerings are reserved for their retired priests.

Lenten Regulations Reminder
FRIDAYS OF LENT & GOOD FRIDAY are days of abstinence.
FASTING is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who have not yet celebrated their 59th birth-day. On a fast day, one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken ac-cording to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not per-mitted, but liquids, including milk and juices, are al-lowed.
ABSTINENCE is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of abstinence, no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability to work would be seri-ously affected, the law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fast and abstinence, the parish priest should be consulted.
Fasting, almsgiving, and prayer are the three tradition-al disciplines of Lent. The faithful and catechumens should undertake these practices seriously in a spirit of penance and of preparation for baptism or of renewal of baptism at Easter
