Adopt-Many-Families Fundraisers:

Thank you for your generosity in helping to fund our “Adopt

Many Families" this Christmas Season. As you know, we

have 84 children to purchase for this year. With the money

raised with the See's Candy fundraiser and Free Dress

Days, we have earned enough to spend about $25 per child

on a toy or something fun for under the Christmas tree.

Because the children we are purchasing for also need

necessity items, it would be wonderful, if while you were out

Christmas shopping for your family, you could pick up items

such as jackets, socks, underwear, toiletries, etc. that we

can also put under the tree for our families.

Our list includes:

Boys Girls

3…4 yr 2…4 yr

2…5 yr 1…5 yr

4…6 yr 1…6 yr

1…7 yr 4…8 yr

Please drop off any items by December 12th

families. Thank you again for your generosity. Merry

Christmas!

to give loving homes to. If you would like to have the new addition

BOTH

past & present!

Congratulations to our CYO Boys

Basketball team for taking the

Championship title at the St. Anthony

Thanksgiving Tournament !

Way to go boys!

We are so proud of you!

1st Grade News!

First grade is progressing and settling into the rigors of

1st grade academics. AR testing has been initiated in our

classroom. All students are encouraged to read and

practice taking their tests online. One of our students has

read over 5,000 words this trimester! The 1st grade students

are beginning to understand that we read for a purpose.

The class just received our books back from the publishers

that were completed before Thanksgiving. Each student

wrote a page with an illustration about “Christmas is......”.

Math appears to be the ‘fun subject’ and the students like to

have math fact challenges with the teacher. They have

started using the analog clock telling time on the hour and

counting pennies and dimes. In religion, we completed our

advent chapter and will discuss a saint named St. Nicholas.

The legend of the candy cane was introduced at art last

week and this week they will learn about Kwanzaa and

Hanukah. The Jelly Belly Factory field trip date has been set

and is on the school calendar for next April 2017. The

excitement of the Christmas pageant is building in first grade

as they are practicing their songs for December 15th.

I would

like to take this time to thank the 1st grade room parents and

other volunteer parents for the time you give to our class.

Also, I want to say a special thank you for the wonderful

Thanksgiving feast you provided for the class.

Congratulations to Andrew Arroyo, Landon Davis, Ethan Go,

Hunter Lile, Adriana Martinez, and Kelly Rodriguez for 100%

on all their spelling tests! I am looking forward to continued

growth in social skills and academics in this wonderful group

of students. I pray for 1st grade that God continues to bless

them and their families. – Ms. Fox

. Don't delay;

order yours today as we do not order extra copies. Last year’s

book was the best yet, and the yearbook team hopes to make

this one even better! Orders can be sent to the office (checks

payable to St. Anthony's School) or you may order online and pay

with credit card at ybpay.lifetouch.com, our school code is

yearbook, please email them to [email protected].

Please send photos as you have them, a picture taken with a

sooner we have pictures, the better, we appreciate the help! If

you have any questions you can contact Jennifer Carranza at the

yearbook email address.

Classroom Parties! Christmas is just around the corner and that means classroom

celebrations! If you have not been fingerprinted and have not

completed Shield the Vulnerable, you are NOT cleared to be in

the classroom for parties or school dances. If you would like to

help out in your child’s classroom, chaperone a field trip, attend a

classroom party, participate in Olympic or AG Days, help out with

Art Docent, or just volunteer in any way here at school, you MUST

be fingerprinted and complete Shield the Vulnerable. Don’t wait

until a fun event approaches to decide to do it, because the

process takes time! Forms and information may be found in the

school office.
