HOME IMPROVEMENTS: Several months ago at a joint meeting of the Parish Pastoral and Finance Councils, approval was given for beginning some needed improvements for our church. In a few years, St. Anthony’s Parish will celebrate its 100th Anniversary and now is the time to prepare for this milestone and address these needs. In this first phase, we will be replacing the Air Conditioning Units. The air conditioning units were working at 1/2 capacity and each year, we face another breakdown of equipment. Don’t worry now. This doesn’t mean the church will be colder, but the air conditioning system will be much more efficient. Work should conclude this week. Future phases will involve the redesign of the ceiling in the main body of the church, additional lighting, the replacement of our Boiler and conversion to gas and the possible rede-sign of the east entrance of the church. At this point, parish savings will enable us to begin these pro-jects, but, realistically, we will have to consider a possible capital campaign in order to complete the work. I will keep all parishioners posted as to our progress. Thanks to all who are so generous to our parish family. — Fr Steve
