Friendship Group: On April 21st we welcome a speaker from StrokeSafe to share some vital information regarding strokes. We encourage people of all ages to attend this session as strokes don’t just affect the elderly.

Holy Thursday Mass: Parishioners from Our Lady of Lourdes will be joining us to celebrate Holy Thursday Mass.
Good Friday Collection 2015: The annual collection for the support of the church in the Holy Land takes place on Good Friday. This collection promotes
the missionary work of the Church in the Holy Land by providing welfare assistance to local Christians in areas such as health, education, employment and housing. Parishes, schools, orphanages and medical centres throughout the Holy Land also rely on assistance from the Good Friday collection. The collection is also used to maintain 74 churches and shrines associated with the life of Jesus. Last year, Australian Catholics donated $1.3 million to this cause, despite tough economic times, natural disasters and increasing cost of living which put a strain on family budgets and financial resources. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Please remember the Christians of the Holy Land again on this Good Friday. Please also pray that peace and harmony will become a reality in the birthplace of Jesus, the ‘Prince of Peace’.

Organist/Musician required: One of our organists is away on sick leave until after Easter. Another of our treasured organists is unable to continue
playing after Easter. Due to this we are urgently seeking someone who is able to play the organ or instrument to lead our singers at Mass. If you are able to help out please enquire at the Parish Office.

Social Justice thought for the week: Jesus dies on the cross -
Power and control seem to be dominating values in our world, yet Jesus seems to lose all of these things that the world considers important. Yet at the same time, in Jesus nailed to a cross, we see a person of great freedom, compassionate love and a special awesome power - the power of the suffering God crying out for justice.
Tenebrae Service: Join us for an ecumenical Tenebrae Service to trace the last hours of Jesus’ journey from the crucifixion to victory over death at 7.30pm on April 1st at St James Anglican Church, Cnr Mort & Russell Streets. It is a time for reflection in a setting of reading, music and symbolism. The service is hosted by Toowooomba Churches Together.

***** News from outside our Parish ***** Chrism Mass: Bishop McGuckin invites everyone to celebrate the annual Chrism Mass at St Pat’s Cathedral at 5.30pm this Monday, March 30th. During the Mass, Bishop McGuckin blesses the Oil of the Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick, and consecrates the Sacred Chrism, all of which are taken back to the parishes for the celebration of the Sacraments.All welcome.
Brisbane Festival Male Voice: The Festival of Male Voice Praise is planned for April 18th and will be held at Warwick Town Hall, Palmerin Street. The program will commence at 3pm with free admission.
