Because He loved us first, we seek to do His will This month we will walk a personal pilgrimage with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ along the Via Dolorosa from Pontius Pilate's praetorium to Golgotha. We reflect upon Jesus' death. It is not the end; it is the beginning. Jesus is stripped; Jesus is crucified; Jesus dies; Jesus is taken down from the cross; Jesus is laid in the tomb. Jesus, who took upon Himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows so as to lead us through the cross to the glory of the resurrection, help us not to drag, but embrace, each cross given to us from the hands of our heavenly Father. Your body was broken and nailed to a cross, Your garments became the prize of soldiers, Your blood ebbed away slowly but surely, and Your blessed mother was entrusted to Your beloved disciple. Lord, your compassion in your passion is without comparison. Transform us from our affliction, sin and brokenness through Your ceaseless love and saving grace. Christ, our blessed redeemer, teach us to join your way of the cross to our way of life. You are our hope. You are our God. You are our Savior. Amen.
