Thou Art a Priest Forever
Jean-Baptiste Henri Lacordaire, O.P.
(1802-1861)
To live in the midst of the world with
no desire for its pleasures; to be a
member of every family, yet belonging
to none; to share all sufferings;
to penetrate all secrets, to heal all
wounds; to daily go from men to God
to offer Him their homage and
petitions; to return from God to men
to bring them His pardon and hope;
to have a heart of fire for charity
And a heart of bronze for chastity; to
bless and to be blest forever. O God,
what a life, and it is yours,
O Priest of Jesus Christ!
Gratitude for 25 years of Priestly Ministry!!
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,
And before you were born I consecrated you;
I have appointed you a prophet to all the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5
Fr. Joe Dorner was called by God to a special
vocation, the priesthood. What a remarkable gift to
the Church, but more personally to the people he
has touched and served over the past 25 years in
the Diocese of Green Bay. This weekend, the
St. Bernadette family, takes the opportunity for us
to say Thank you.
Thank you for answering your vocational call to
serve Christ and his Church at a time when few
men choose the same path. Thank you for your
obedience, for showing us what it means to submit.
Thank you for walking with us as we journey through
life, helping us to discover and recognize God’s un-
conditional love and endless presence. Thank you
for praying with us and for us and sharing the
beautiful sacraments with us so we can grow closer
to our Lord. Thank you for celebrating Mass weekly
and daily, sharing the Word of God and feeding us
with His Body and Blood so reverently.
Thank you for the times you are there in time of
need; when we are sick in the hospital or have a
loved one close to death; when we need someone
to talk to; when we feel depressed, isolated, or
experience major challenges in life such as home-
lessness, job loss, or divorce.
Thank you for appreciating every life from birth to
death, guiding us, teaching us, supporting us every
step of the way. Thank you for challenging us to live
a life that aligns with the teachings of Christ.
Thank you for bringing Christ to us and being Christ
for us. Thank you for showing us what it means to
follow him, not always knowing where the road
leads, but trusting in the Lord’s plan. Thank you for
your sacrifice, your ministry, and your love for our
Lord and the family of God.
May the Lord continue to Bless you.
Gloria Koth, St. Bernadette Care Ministry
THOUGHTS TO PONDER FROM THE DESK OF FATHER JOE
It has been a while since I wrote.
Looking back over the past month, I'm
grateful. I'm grateful for the two
weddings we were able to celebrate. It
was wonderful becoming acquainted
with these couples this past year. It was
also with a great sense of gratitude and relief that
we were able to celebrate the weddings.
I thank the Lord for these little mercies.
We also had three funerals for two relatively young
people. Two were in their early 50’s, the other 63. I
am grateful we were able to celebrate these
funerals! I am grateful for the consolation and
peace the families experienced. It means a lot to
me that they really wanted to gather and celebrate
and pray at St. Bernadette's for the repose of the
souls of their loved ones.
I'm also grateful we can now gather at quarter
capacity to celebrate Sunday Masses. This means
so much to many of our fellow parishioners. Please
prayerfully consider joining us. Your spiritual power
and presence is so important. We still have room
even at quarter capacity. Masks and hand sanitizer
are provided and other preventative measures are
still in place. Pews are taped to ensure social
distancing and I wear a mask as I distribute Holy
Communion.
As I reflect upon the past month, I'm grateful for
these little signs of God's mercy. I'm also grateful
for you and for the opportunity to pray with you for
the healing of our country and our Church. May God
bless you. May he free us from all that threatens
our health and wellbeing; whether spiritual,
emotional or physical.
Hoping to worship with you soon,
I am sincerely yours in Christ,
Rev. Joseph E. Dorner

With current times as they are: the pandemic; unrest in our nation;
conflicts of leadership; summer plans changed etc; many likely need
to find the strength and power to put our trust in the God.
Refer to Lectio: Peter with Dr Tim Gray in FORMED.
Start with Season 1; Episode 3, “Faith Not Fear: Walking in Trust.”
This continues with stories of Peter and the storms at sea. Dr. Gray
takes you into the Gospel of Matthew and 4 scenes with Jesus speak-
ing to the Apostles.
Jesus will say, “Oh you of little faith.” Jesus has to jostle and chal-
lenge and push them to trust. We need to stretched in our faith of
God. Jesus shows us lessons in the Gospel of Matthew. Events are
ordered in this way that leads us to deeper meditation and reflection.
Do not be anxious about anything, but by prayer and petition offer
these to God. Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness. Jesus
challenges that God is your Father and He knows your needs. Be
open to TRUST. Seek first, God’s will. The opposite of fear is faith.
This is the challenge.........
Our next Baptism Prep is scheduled in
person on Thursday, July 16th at 6:30 pm.
Call the office to register.

PRAYERS FOR OUR PRIESTS Fr. Benedict’s Prayer for Priests
Lord Jesus Christ, eternal High Priest,
You offered yourself to the Father on the altar
of the Cross and through the outpouring of the
Holy Spirit gave Your priestly people a share in
Your redeeming sacrifice.
Hear our prayer for the sanctification of our priests.
Grant that all who are ordained to the ministerial
priesthood may be ever more conformed to You,
the Divine Master.
May they preach the Gospel with pure heart and
clear conscience. Let them be shepherds according
to Your own Heart, single-minded in service to You
and to the Church and shining examples of a holy,
simple and joyful life.
Through the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Your Mother and ours, draw all priests and the
flocks entrusted to their care
to the fullness of eternal life where you live and
reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Have you watched our Mass online?
We are looking for talented individuals to join our IT Ministry.
This is a great way to use your tech-savvy gifts for the Church and meet others who are interested
in this ministry. A few key positions we would like to fill with more volunteers:
Camera Operator
Video Editor
If you have any questions, please call (920-739-4157) or
email the parish office at [email protected].
We currently have a small team of volunteers who produce a weekly video of the
Saturday 4:00 pm Mass and posts it on our Facebook and Website weekly. Training will be provided.
WELCOME CLAIRE! I was born and raised in
Neenah, WI. I graduated from
Marian University, spring of
2019, with a bachelor's degree
in Psychology, and minors in
Religious Education, Expressive
and Therapeutic Arts, and
Theology. After college I spent a year as missionary
on SPIRITUS Team 11, where I was a Youth Ministry
intern at Sacred Heart. I enjoy cooking, baking,
spending time with friends and family and being in
the presence of our Lord. I am thrilled to be on the
Family Ministry Team for both St. Bernadette and
Sacred Heart parishes.
God wants to fill you with his grace and courage so that you
can go out into the world and let your light shine. - Matthew
