Do you ever think of Jesus and his disciples and
how amazing it would have been directly in the
midst of Our Savior....? Peter, is the rock whom Je-
sus asked to build His church; our Catholic Church.
Look at Footprints of God with Steven Ray, particu-
larly Season 1, Episode 7 titled: Peter the Keeper of
the Keys. Peter has been referenced as the Rock,
the Fisher of Men and Head of The Church. In this
episode Stephen follows Peter‘s path from Galilee to
Jerusalem to Rome. You will learn answers to ques-
tions about The Pope and find out why Jesus did in-
deed choose Peter. On top of learning these an-
swers you’ll be somewhat on a trip; seeing things we
can’t currently see due to our circumstances of
quarantine.

May 2020 Prayer Intentions
Bishop Ricken's Intention
That those suffering from addictions of any kind
may be freed from their bondage through the inter-
cession of our Mother, Mary.
Pope Francis' Intention
We pray that deacons, faithful in their service to the
Word and the poor, may be an invigorating symbol
for the entire Church.
Honoring Mother’s
This weekend, we celebrate Mother’s Day – a time of gratitude for the gift of Mothers!!!
When I was a child, I remember my brother asking my Mom how she could love all of us (six children) at the same
time. With this question, I wanted to quantify how much love my mother had for me, and I was sure I was loved 1/6th
as much as my friend who was an only child. But with growth, the true understanding of a mother’s unconditional and
selfless love was revealed, and this special love is a gift from God to each of us in so many ways.
In a very physical way, a mother’s love begins with faith and an open heart, accepting the miracle of life growing within
her and sharing that love with her children as they grow as a protector, comforter, educator, and friend. At other times,
special individuals become a mother or mother-figure to children through adoption, or changes in family situations.
This same self-giving of love is present. No matter what the situation, a beautiful woman has opened her heart to love
another child or person and guide them through both celebrations and challenges of life.
Our Blessed Mother, Mary, is our perfect example of a Mother. With her “Yes” to be the Mother of God’s only Son, Je-
sus, she embraces her maternal vocation of loving service to God and to others. She lovingly walked with Jesus
through his life and was present at the foot of the cross when He died. This abundant self-sacrificing love of Mary is
extended to each of us today as she reigns as Queen Mother of Heaven and Earth. In our prayers to Mary, she inter-
cedes for us with her Son, Jesus.
Let us not forget our other spiritual mothers who guide, support, and care for many people through their prayers. We
may not realize their presence in our lives, but some examples are our religious sisters, grandmothers, teachers,
friends, relatives, angels and saints.
Today, we pray for blessings on all mothers, but in a very special way, we honor and pray for mothers who are no long-
er with us here on earth, mothers who have experienced the loss of a child, and the many women who desire to be
mothers.
May the Lord Bless and Protect All Mother’s!!!
Gloria Koth
St. Bernadette Care Ministry
God our heavenly Father, you give to each the ability to share your generative love.
Bless those women in our lives who mirror your love and bring forth life through their willingness to risk
bringing new life into this world. Help us to show them our gratitude for the gift of life and the gift of a moth-
er's love. May our life-giving God continue to bless them and show them his unfailing love. We ask this
through Jesus, God's Son and our brother. Amen.
