CHARITY & DEVELOPMENT APPEAL (CDA) May our parish, through our financial gift and prayer to the CDA, support the works of mercy that take place in our Diocese. We pray to the Lord.

The annual Charity and Development Appeal (CDA) is underway. Thank you to the 263 families who have made a gift. Each and every gift is important and provides vital support to the programs and organizations who rely on the CDA. CDA funds allow them to provide critical services and resources to our parishes, diocese and local communities.

Support WORKS OF MERCY in our Diocese and make your gift today!

Our parish has currently raised $107,225.59 with 41.24%% of our families participating. Our Goal is $260.000.00. Gifts can be made online at

dphx.org/cda or by completing a donor envelope. Thank you!

PARISH LENTEN MISSION St. Bernard of Clairvaux

March 24, 25, 26 & 27, 2019

Come Encounter Jesus Fr. Blaise Czaja, C.P. is a priest of the Passionist Community in Citrus Heights, CA. Fr. Blaise began preaching Parish Missions full time since 1972. He will be preaching at all Masses the week-end of March 23 & 24.

The Mission begins Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. with evening sessions Monday through Wednesday, all at 7:00 p.m.

Monday Mission 7:00 p.m. Communal Reconciliation 7:45 p.m.

Tuesday Mission 7:00 p.m. Homily Wednesday Mission 7:00 p.m. Anointing of the sick.

TDuring daily Mass, Monday through Wednesday, Father will give a Mini Mission at Homily.

Father Blaise will hear confessions after morning Mass and evening sessions. Throughout the Mission, Jesus will be moving, touching lives, healing and blessing His people. This is the reason for the Mission, that people hear the Good News and come to know God in a more deeply intimate and personal way.

Prayer for Our Mission: God our Father, we thank you

for loving us so much that you gave us Jesus. You long for us to know you. Create in us a new hunger for you and you alone. Make our minds and hearts burn with your Word during our Mission. Open us to the healing presence of your Spirit, that we may be touched, refreshed and filled with joy. Draw many people to this Mission and we shall be wonderfully, powerfully renewed. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen!

Support The Catholic Relief Services Collection Next week, St. Bernard’s will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection. Funds from this collection provide food to the humgry, support displaced refugees, and bring Christ’s love and mercy to all people here and abroad.

Next week, please give generously to the collection, and help Jesus in disguise. Learn more about the collection at Www.usccb.org/catholic-relief.

Update on Fr. Brian: He would like to send a personal “thank you” to everyone for the many prayers and cards sent his way. The power of prayer is powerful! He is home recovering from pneumonia. He will not be returning calls or answering correspondence at this time.

Fr. Brian looks forward to seeing everyone upon his return.

Please contact the front office for any assistance you may require.

Thank you for your respect and understanding as he recovers.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults ( RCIA ) Rite of Election

March 10, 3:30-4:30 pm Ss Simon & Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ

The Rite of Election (Enrollment of Names) is for those who are unbaptized preparing for baptism at the Easter Vigil. This is a very significant step in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. All of the Catechumens & their Godparents/Sponsors gather together on this day. The Church formally ratifies the Catechumens’ readiness for the Sacraments of Initiation. In turn the Catechumens from now on known as the Elect, publicly acknowledge their desire to receive the Sacraments of Initiation.
