Thank you for your continuous support of St. Damien Parish.
Your generosity is a blessing to us and all the faithful.
All are invited to write the names of your
deceased loved ones in our Parish Book of
Remembrance found in the sanctuary. They
will be remembered in our petitions during the
Masses throughout the month of November. Please remember those who have
gone before us marked with the
sign of faith.
Remember the sick of the parish at
home, in hospitals and in convalescent homes, especially,
Marilyn Poulsen, Arline Jacques & Darlene Kennedy.
A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar
In today’s gospel Jesus describes the vocation of parents: “The
greatest among you will be your servant.” Children take our
blood, genes, strength, name, patience and resources. A parent’s
servitude begins at the moment of conception. The Lord is
present in each of our acts of selfless service.
PLEASE NOTE: St. Joseph Cemetery will need
to shut off the water supply for the winter season
on November 4th. Thank you.
NOVEMBER 5, 2017
REMEMBRANCE Fund
It is customary and fitting to remember
loved ones who have died with memorial donations
to a favorite cause or charity. In this way, the
memory of the deceased is honored and a good
work, either civic or religious, is perpetuated. There are
numerous charities that have been traditionally designated for
such purpose.
Memorial donations to the Remembrance Fund are
restricted to the betterment and furtherance of our worship and
our place of worship - the Church, as the needs present itself, or
as determined by the Pastor.
We are grateful to the following who have donated to the
Remembrance Fund:
In Memory of Catherine Hickey Williams Greg & Eileen Murphy
In Memory of Ignatz “George” Dudack Leon & Joan Dudack Russell Williams
Anne & Kenneth Kelly Mieczyslawa & Casimir Tesz
Robert & Lucia Dudack
In Memory of Edward Zawacki The Rothrock Family Judith & Malcolm Hutchinson
On October 22nd, I commissioned for service as
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Daniel
LaFleur. Archbishop Blair has delegated to pastors
the privilege and responsibility of commissioning new
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at the
parish level. This commissioning followed a training held by
Deacon R. Carl Lickwar.
Please join me in congratulating Daniel upon his commissioning
and thank him at the same time for his spirit of willing service to
our Parish.
Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. John P. Melnick
