St. Dominic’s earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing death and disability for stroke patients. Additionally, St. Dominic’s received the association’s Target: Stroke™ Honor Roll Elite award for meeting quality measures developed to reduce the time between the patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster tissue plasminogen activator, or tPA, the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat ischemic stroke. St. Dominic Hospital recently received awards from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for its commitment to quality stroke and heart care.

St. Dominic’s received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get with the Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized guidelines. St. Dominic’s earned the award by meeting specifi c quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period with the goal of

I am a native of Hinds County and currently live in Terry, MS. I graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelors of Social Work. Before coming to St. Dominic's New Directions, I had a 14 year career with Sta-Home Health and Hospice working with volunteers and the bereavement program.

Q. Tell us about your family.My husband, Brooke, and I met while attending Delta State. We have been married for 12 years. He is an appraiser at Capitol Body Shop in Gluckstadt. We have 2 beautiful daughters, Allie (11) and Claire (7), that keep us busy with tournament so� ball.

Q. What made you interested in working at St. Dominic’s?Working in healthcare, I have always heard positive and wonderful comments about St. Dominic's and what a wonderful place it is to work. A� er doing some research I learned that St. Dominic's is not just a hospital but also a ministry to their patients, families and employees. I am excited to be part of the St. Dominic's family and live up to the St. Dominic's reputation.

Q. What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?I am the youngest of seven. I have 17 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews.
