Every summer, we have Mission Weekends throughout the Diocese of Winona. The Diocese of Kadapa, India, is among the groups making mission appeals in our parishes. Rev. Swamy Pothireddy, a priest from that diocese, will celebrate the weekend Masses on August 19 and 20.
The Diocese of Kadapa is in the southeastern part of India and was established in 1977 by the Millhill Missionaries. At present there are 55 parishes with 120 priests serving the people. The Diocese of Kadapa needs your help to continue its mission of educating the poor, providing pastoral care for the faithful, evangelization, and with funding to train future priests. Your generous support and prayers will enable the Diocese of Kadapa to carry out the mission of the Church effectively.
Today’s Gospel cuts right to the heart of the matter and asks the question, do we have faith in the Lord? To answer that question, we need to ask the question, how has our faith given us strength to face times of doubt like Peter experienced?
We need a solid foundation to help us understand that Jesus is there, willing to help us through those difficult and stressful times.
St. Felix is a place that will help our young people and families become more aware of Jesus. This is a school dedicated to lifelong learning where students are encouraged to develop spiritually, academically, socially and morally. Our students will know that they are able to turn to Jesus during those times of doubt and not be afraid.
As we are getting ready for the school year, there are a couple of events coming up. Back to School Night is on Thursday, August 17, at 6 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to meet and greet your child’s teacher, see your child’s classroom and meet new friends. You can also bring in your school supplies and check out the school campus.
First Day of School is Monday, August 21.
On Wednesday, September 6, at 6:30 p.m., we are having a Parent’s Night. This will be an information night where parents can learn about the school year and sit in their son or daughter’s classroom and see what the day will be like for them. We will be providing free childcare during that time.

Raffle Tickets All registered parishioners have an envelope of raffle tickets to sell. Please pick up your tickets in the back of church after Saturday/Sunday Mass.
Please make every effort to sell all the tickets in your envelope. If you need to purchase additional tickets that are not included in your original envelope, contact, or stop by, the parish office. Please do not throw away any unwanted raffle tickets as we must account for each ticket printed. You can drop them off at the school or parish offices or bring them on the day of the festival.
