From the Pastor's Desk:
Dear Parishioners of St. Florian,
Thank you for your generosity and for all you do for St.Florian. At this time, when the heating season is approach-ing, we are trying to meet the demands that this means.
As you know, our heating bills are high every year. Ourold Church boiler is not only old, it is not sufficient forour needs. Once it is turned on our gas bills skyrocketbecause the controls on the boiler are not precise. Weare still waiting for the TO TEACH WHO CHRIST IScampaign to give us money to install a new boiler, butwe need to wait until the campaign is over before wereceive any money, so there is still a couple of yearsahead of us. Meanwhile we have to face high heatingbills. We are still paying on last winter's bills and thenew heating season will begin in about 2 months. Toprevent the accumulation of all the heating bills I wouldlike to ask you to increase your donation in the ENERGYENVELOPE. I hope that the heating season will be mildfor all of us, but once the Church boiler is turned onwe are still paying for the usage.
I will keep you in my prayers, please keep me in yours.
Yours in Christ

Dear "To Teach Who Christ Is" donor,
In addition to the other information regarding thiscollection, please remember that the program wasmeant to take 5 years to help you spread your do-nation over time. Some ofyou have already giventhe entire sum ofmoney that you pledged.
The 60% from the program goes directly into ourparish account. Anything above that we get 100%.At the end of the 5 year period we hope to use themoney to purchase a new boiler for our Church. This is way overdue! If you have anyquestions about your pledge, please call (312)534-8500.
Thank you for your generosity and please continuefulfilling your pledge. St. Florian is counting onyou!
Yours in Christ,Fr. Robert Marchwiany, Pastor
A big thank you to all who took part in the "ToTeach Who Christ Is" Campaign. We appreciateyour generosity. The Archdiocese credits us everymonth with 60% of your CURRENT payments. Some people are delinquent in their paymentswhich slows down our goal. We really can't moveforward until we receive most of the funds for theboiler. If you have any questions about your payments, please call the Archdiocese at 312-534-8500.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Robert Marchwiany, Pastor
Dear St. Florian parishioners:
As summer time is coming to an end we will be returning toour regular parish activities.
There is never a vacation break in God's house. Jesus is givingan example of what is most important in His Father's House."Zeal for your house will consume me." (John 2: 1 7) Thismessage is many dimensional. One of its messages is thesupport and care ofHis Church.
Being grateful for the slower pace of summer, we are lookingfor it to get busier. Christ's presence that we experience atSt. Florian enriches us all and responds to our need. Differentpeople have different gifts. St. Florian Church has been sharingthese gifts with us for about 112 years. The past generationsconnect with us, the people of the present. Our Church life isa treasure that we have to continue into future generations. Todo so, St. Florian Church is always asking the parishioners andall the people ofgood will to share with us their TIME, TALENTand TREASURE.
These three (3) gifts have been exercised by Christians sinceJesus established the Church about 2,000 years ago. Becauseof these 3 basic gifts, people have been served, educated andevangelized. These 3 gifts can come in different forms becausethe Church of the past had different needs than the Church oftoday. These gifts have to be ignited in people's hearts and passedon to the next generation. Those gifts have been exercised inresponse to our parish needs. Because of your generosity inthese 3 areas we are able to exist and provide the necessarysacramental life, education and evangelization to whoeverneeds it. St. Florian Church is very blessed to have memberslike yourselves who understand our mission. One of theprograms that the Church has been doing is TO TEACHWHOCHRIST IS. Several of you have been actively making sa-crifices every month to support the program. TO TEACHWHO CHRIST IS has become a helpful tool in many parishesof the Archdiocese ofChicago.
For St. Florian, it has been a new gift that is actively movingforward. I am grateful to all of you who have been partici-pating in the program. So far TO TEACH WHO CHRISTIS has been successful but we still have less than 4 years ofcollections to come. Hopefully we will be able to collect therest of the funds in the future. Our treasure is our Church andwe need a new boiler for the Church. TO TEACH WHOCHRIST IS, is only one of the programs that is moving theparish forward. Everything that you do financially for St. Florianmakes our future possible. The treasure that you share is oneof the 3 gifts and that seems to be the hardest one for all ofusto maintain. Every parish like St. Florian Church has regularexpenses and also unexpected ones like you experience inyour own homes. We try to minimize our regular expensesbut we still have bills to pay each month.
So please continue to exercise your gifts of TIME, TALENTand TREASURE that you are giving to St. Florian. May theLord repay you a hundredfold for all of your gifts. CardinalCupich encourages us to continue your support ofTO TEACHWHO CHRIST IS. There are many Chicago parishes thathave already found success in the program.
Yours In Christ,
Fr. Robert Marchwiany, Pastor
