Liturgical Environment Ministry looking for high school students, young adults,
adults and your friends to volunteer.
Do you want to make a difference in our church for the holidays? Would you like to share your gifts and give back to your church? If so then you're the perfect candidate to be a volunteer to our church, Saint Frances. Great volunteer opportunities, meeting new friends and having a good time while working together!! We can meet on the days you are available. We need people to hang banners and to help with the changing of the altar decorations. This is all for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our Children’s Christmas Program is now forming!
Rehearsals began Tuesday November 3 from 4:30 to 5:00pm, in the parish Center and will continue every Tuesday until December 15, 2015. All children and youth are invited to participate.
Ongoing Estate Sale St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church has been liquidating the very large estate of our beloved deceased parishioner Don Majestic. Mr. Majestic has donated his personal belongings, home, commercial buildings, and other properties to our St. Frances building loan debt, and so it has become our current task to turn his gift into money. So please come to our Estate Sales held every Friday and Saturday from 8am to 1pm at 35163 Yucaipa Blvd to help us by buying some of Don’s treasure. We will be putting new items out every week, so keep coming back to check out what we have. Also, if you have some time to donate, and don’t mind getting dirty, we need volunteers for the estate sales, and also to sort through his belongings. So bring some gloves and join us daily from 9am to 4pm Monday through Thursday at 35181 Yucaipa Blvd., and 8am to 1pm Friday and Saturday at 35163 Yucaipa Blvd. Thank you
Christmas Angel Tree Arbol Navideño de Angeles
Once again our Christmas Angel Tree ministry is hoping to assist persons in our own parish community. All parishioners are encouraged to recommend their own child/ren or child/ren they know from our local Yucaipa and Calimesa community who may need extra assistance with Christmas gifts this year. We all experience difficult times in our lives, whether through loss of job, illness, death in the family, or financial hardships. As a Christian Community, we are here to help when times are hard. If you or someone you know could use a little help with gifts over the Christmas season, please fill out this form. You may recommend children (up to 17 years of age) as long as they live locally and you are a registered member of St. Frances Cabrini Church. Please return completed forms in the collection or to the office no later than November 23rd , 2015. GETTING THROUGH THE TOUGH TIMES "It's going to get worse before it gets better" is a phrase that prepares us to buckle up for a rough ride. We know that enduring a difficult time will require some strenuous physical or emotional energy on our part before we experience the calm of normality. Our past experience tells us that we can endure the difficult pressure better when we know how long it will last and if we know that something better awaits us. Getting through the tough times while holding to the promise that awaits us is the message of this weekend's readings. They point toward the promises of God's kingdom that will come after the maelstroms and chaos of this world. PARA SOBREVIVIR LOS TIEMPOS DIFÍCILES "Las cosas van a empeorar antes de que se mejoren" es una frase que nos prepara
para un camino difícil. Sabemos que al atravesar por tiempos difíciles necesitamos tener suficiente energía física o emocional antes de poder vivir la calma de la normalidad. Nuestra experiencia pasada nos dice que podemos sobrevivir mejor las presiones si sabemos cuanto tiempo van a durar y si sabemos que nos espera algo mejor. Stephen Ministry
The Stephen Minister helps meet the needs of individuals who are: • Hospitalized • Facing surgery • Mourning the loss of a loved one • Disabled • Homebound and lonely • Unemployed • Having to make a difficult decision • Needing more support than friends and family can give • Caring for a loved one while exhausted oneself • Worried and sad • Not feeling secure spiritually • Retired and having a hard time adjusting to retirement • Recently diagnosed with cancer or some other life threatening condition These are just some of the situations calling for a Stephen Minister’s help.
