Room in the Inn Sign Ups This Weekend

St. Francis is joining with other churches in the Memphis area to

serve those experiencing homelessness. You can help by inviting the homeless to be our guests at Room in the Inn, every Thursday night, from November-March, at the Ozanam Center (St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen), 1306 Monroe. We will be offering food and shelter to those in need of our aid. You can assist in this endeavor by pre-paring and serving dinner, sharing in fellowship, arrang-ing sleeping quarters or serving as a Laundry Angel. There is a job for everyone. Please stop by the Room in the Inn table in the Narthex, after all Masses this weekend. Or call Jim Burge at (901) 254-1595 for more information.

Sacrament of Baptism Parents wishing to have a child (6 and under) baptized must be registered and active parishioners for a minimum of three (3) months prior to the date of baptism and are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Class prior to setting a date. Classes are generally scheduled on the third Thursdays of each month, but please consult the bulletin to confirm. Please call the Church Of-fice to schedule baptisms.

Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation Preparation for sacraments requires two years of preparation - received either through Parish Religious Education classes (PRE) or religious education at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School. Call the Church Office for additional information.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process through which adults become full members of the Catholic Church. Sessions meet weekly from September through April or May. If interested, please call the church office or visit the church website and submit the form on the “Becoming Catholic” page.

Sacrament of Penance A priest is available to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Penance or Confession) every Saturday afternoon from 4:00 – 4:45 PM, or by appointment through the parish of-fice.

Sacrament of Matrimony Couples wishing to get married at St. Francis must make an ap-pointment to begin marriage preparation with one of the priests or deacons at least 9 months before the proposed date of the wedding. Contact the church office for additional information.

Anointing of the Sick Due to federal privacy laws, hospitals no longer contact parishes when a parishioner enters the hospital. Please call the parish office when you or a member of your family enters – or plans to enter – the hospital.

Funerals

Please contact the parish office for information regarding funeral arrangements. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Adoration Exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is offered on the First Friday of every month. Exposition typically begins in the chapel immediately following the 8:15 am Mass and continues until Benediction at 5:30 pm. All are welcome to join us in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

Birthright of Memphis

Birthright of Memphis will have an information table in the Narthex next weekend, October 14

& 15. Though there will not be a second collection, envelopes for gifts will be available.
