Be Not Afraid (Part 2) Respect Life Month
Building a culture of life isn't something we just do one
month of the year, or with one event or initiative—it's
essential to who we are. It happens through our daily
actions, how we treat one another, and how we live our lives.
How do we respond when our aging parents are in failing
health? Do they know how much we love them and cherish
each day given? Do we ensure they know they are never a
burden to us? In our own challenging times, do we ask for
support? When others offer a helping hand, do we receive
it? When our friend becomes pregnant in difficult
circumstances, do we show compassion that tangibly
supports her and helps her welcome the life of her new little
one?
Sometimes, we may not be sure exactly what to do, but let's
not allow the fear of doing the wrong thing or saying the
wrong thing keep us from living out our missionary call. We
don't need to have everything figured out all at once. Let's
remember the guidance of Our Blessed Mother, the first
disciple: "Do whatever he tells you" (John 2:5).
This Respect Life Month and always, let's walk with each
other; let's help each other embrace God's gift of human life.
Whatever storms or trials we face, we are not alone. He is
with us: "Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the
age" (Matthew 28:20).

Cause an Effect
When we live our faith “out loud,” sharing our gifts and caring for others, we have the opportunity to cause a positive effect, to allow God’s love to be known and
experienced through us.
We are sometimes hesitant to recognize the impact
of our words and actions on others. Yet we know in
our hearts that what we do makes a difference, for
ill or for the better. As disciples, we can make a
difference, in the lives of individual people and in
the life of the Church, our city, and world. What
impact will your stewardship make in the life of
another? How will you cause an effect for the good
of others, as you share in Christ’s mission to bring
life, light, mercy, and peace through your words,
actions, service, and ministry? ©Catholic Life and Faith,

When it comes to praying
for the dead, Pope Francis
said this work is above all a

the deceased left for us, and
of “the good that they did.
It is a thanksgiving to the
Lord for having given them
and for their love and
friendship.” (Nov.2016 CNS)
Honor your deceased loved
ones in our nine-day All
Souls Novena. Masses starts

Mateo22, 1-14
manda entrar a “buenos y malos” (Mt 22,10).

Next week’s Second
Collection
Next week, our second
collection will be a combined
collection of three campaigns
– World Missions, Latin
America, and Central and
Eastern Europe. We are
called to support blossoming
missionary churches. Be
generous. The future of the
Church needs our help. Without Family and Friends life would be like a garden
without flowers. A thoughtful
act or kind word may pass in a
moment, but the warmth and
care behind it stay in the heart
forever... We would like to
thank all our thoughtful,
considerate family and friends
who have supported and
helped carry us through this sad
and difficult time. Whether you
said a prayer, sat with us, sent
a card, food, or flowers, had a
Mass said, or helped our family
in many other ways, we are
grateful of your generosity and
kindness. It has been a comfort
to us. God bless all of you. We
re forever grateful.
