The Corner Brought to you by your Evangelization Team

Has some injustice been done to you? Kneel before the Cross of Jesus and what do you see there? The innocent Son of God nailed to the Cross. And what does He do? He forgives His persecutors. Is there a lack of forgiveness in you somewhere? Kneel before the Cross of Jesus often during Lent and see what happens.

BREAKING OPEN THE WORD

Fifth Sunday of Lent ~ March 29, 2020

Ezekiel 37:12-14

“…. I will put my spirit in you that you may live….” Meditate as to how prophetic, timeless and comforting is the Lord’s proclamation during this time of the Coronavirus. How might you reaffirm your faith and more fully believe that no matter what cataclysmic event rocks our world God is with us, breathing full and abundant life into us?

Romans 8:8-11 “……. the one Who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through His Spirit dwelling in you.….” In what ways do you find ‘His Spirit’ living within you? Is it by a sense of peace, calm and hope, even during these dire and desperate times? Do you think that His Spirit has been with you all along? Might it be that you have been too distracted by fleeting things of a transient world to notice until this crisis?

John 11:1-45 “……this illness is not to end in death….” How can you more fully understand that Jesus was not just speaking about Lazarus in the tomb but also to all of us two thousand years later? Do you grasp that this pandemic, or whatever illnesses still mortal life, can never end in death if we believe in Eternal Life? CRS RICE BOWL—Meet Maria Ana Maria Ana and her brothers receive one meal a day at school, so that they can focus on achieving their dreams. How was education important for your future? How can we ensure that all young people have a chance to be educated? Visit www.crsricebowl.org for more.

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION PRAYER PROGRAM

Fifth Month Your baby weighs over 1 pound now. Their mother regularly feels little feet and elbows poking her. It seems when their mother is quiet and still that your little baby likes to stir things up! Your baby is developing their own sleeping habits as well as their fingernails and toenails. If they were to be born now, your baby would have a chance of surviving with lots of medical help. We are mid-way through the pregnancy now. Your prayers have helped your baby’s mother continue with her pregnancy and seek the help she needs. “Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.” ARCHDIOCESE OF PHILADELPHIA--TELEVISION MASS Sunday mornings at 5:30AM: WPVI—Channel 6. The Archdiocese thanks Channel 6 for its generosity in broadcasting the Television Mass.

Let us pray for those who SERVE and PROTECT… All-powerful and ever-living God, when Abraham left his native land and departed from his people, You kept him safe through all his journeys. Protect these soldiers. Be their constant companion and their strength in battle, their refuge in every adversity. Guide them, O Lord, that they may return home in safety. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO ARE SICK

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick and cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen. 5-175
