FORMED.org One of Formed.org’s pick of the month is Hos a. This powerful and inspiring 41 minute film begins with the Gospel accounts of how Jesus Christ ins tuted the Eucharist. It explains how the sacrifices and offerings in the Old Testament prefigured the perfect and final sacrifice in Jesus Christ Himself—the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Highly rated!

BEQUESTS I give, devise, and bequeath the sum of $_____ to the Archdio-cese of Portland in Oregon for the sole benefit of St. Frederic Catholic Church located at 175th S. 13th, St. Helens, Oregon to be used under the direc on of the priest at the me of my death.

Divine Worship

Dear Parishioners,

The Archbishop has published an Archdiocesan Liturgical Handbook for all the faithful of the Archdiocese. “This Archdiocesan Liturgical Handbook is intended to serve as a guide to many of the aspects of the life of our diocese and our parishes that concern the celebra on of the Sacred Liturgy and the understanding of the faith it expresses. It is intended in the first place for priests and deacons, but also for the consecrated and laity who are engages in a great variety of roles in ensuring that the Church in our Archdiocese is true to herself—one, holy, catholic and apostolic, but also alive, praying, caring and by God’s grace spiritually growing. As I write these lines I have in mind in a special way the parents of our children and those who assist them as religious educators.”

There is a copy in our office and everyone is invited to come and learn what is in the handbook. The book will remain in the office.

You can also go to the Archdiocesan website under Divine Worship to learn more about this.

May god bless all of us as we con nue to prac ce our faith under this Liturgical Guidance.

Fr. N. Marandu

MASS INTENTIONS ($10.00) The Church considers the Mass the greatest possible prayer of intercession because it is the perfect offering of Christ to the Father by making present the Paschal Mystery of His death and resurrec on. It is a longstanding tradi on in the Church that a Priest may be requested to offer a Mass for a specific inten on, even when one cannot be physically present at the Mass. The faithful make a free will offering, called a s pend, to a priest or Religious Community in order to apply the Mass to a specific inten on. By making this offering, the faithful, by making their own offering, associate themselves more in mately with Christ who offers Himself in the Sacred Host, and thereby obtain more abundant fruits (refer to Pope Paul VI's le er "Firma in Tradi one" (Firm in Tradi on) of June 13, 1974).

“I am not the one you imagine me to be: There is someone coming after me whose sandal I am not fit to undo.” — Acts 13:25

Dear Parishioners,

God challenges all of us to live the life of stewardship. Our lives should center on God rather than our ac vi es. The following of God should not only be on Sunday but everyday. Our lives should follow the will of God to serve him, love him, and to love our neighbor. Let us always give God his glory through the life of stewardship.
