Our parish family rejoices in the birth of your children. To
prepare for baptism, parents are expected to attend one
prepara-
tion meeting. Please call the parish office for the schedule of
preparation meetings and Baptism celebration.
MARRIAGES:
Our parish is honored to host your marriage celebration. In
order to accomplish all of the necessary preparations, arrange-
ments should be made with one of the priests at least one year
in advance. Pre-Cana and God's Plan for a Joy-Filled Mar-
riage classes can be arranged through the Family Life Office of
the Archdiocese of Newark at www.rcan.org.
MINISTRY TO THE SICK:
For those of advanced age or seriously ill, Holy Communion will
be brought to the home of any person permanently or tem-
porarily homebound. Please contact the parish office.

Paul’s back! After last week’s “violent abuse,” oppo-nents
organized a lynch mob that beat Paul nearly to death. But call Paul
the “energizing evangelist,” transforming deadly cruelty into
life-giving zeal. Paul’s past courage should inspire our
com-mitment; Revelation’s future “new heaven, new earth” should
inspire our optimism. But Revelation’s present assurance, “Behold,
God’s dwelling is with the human race,” should chal-lenge us to
become “missionaries of mercy.” Because Pope Fran-cis declared that
the Church’s credibility is completely dependent on our showing
unconditional mercy. Mercy, said Francis, makes the Church, the
world, and everyone young again, reawakened to life’s noblest
virtues. Fittingly, in today’s Gospel Jesus reinforces that theme:
“This is how all will know you are my disciples, if you have love

NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL FUNDRAISING WEB PAGE

happiness and peace as we live the lives Jesus calls us to. All
will fall in love with her spirituality and down-to-earth sense of
humor and love of family. All will leave refreshed and happy after
fellowship with our Parish sisters over a delicious brunch and an
up-lifting message.

SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA RELICS IN MAHWAH
“Afternoon of Hope”, a prayerful and holy veneration of the
823-year-old First Class Relics of St. Anthony of Padua on
Satur-day, June 15, 2019 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate
Con-ception Church, 900 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, NJ 07430. These
are slivers of skin from his cheek and a fragment of his rib. The
relics are on a “World Tour” which began at the Pon-tifical
Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, Italy where the Saint is buried.
Veneration will begin at 2:00 p.m., a talk on the life of St.
Anthony presented by Father Alessandro Ratti, OFM at 3:00 p.m. and
5:00 p.m Vigil Mass with a special prayer and blessing for “Hope
and Healing”, concelebrated by Fr. Manolo A. Punzalan, Pastor of
Immaculate Conception and Father Alessandro Ratti, Homilist. Prayer
petition cards and holy cards will be available to everyone. Each
prayer petition will be taken back to Padua, Italy by Father
Alessandro Ratti on Monday, June 17th. The tour ends back at the
tomb of St. Anthony in Padua where the friars will gather and
recite prayers over all the prayer petitions and inten-tions
gathered during this tour. For additional information, please

ours, too). Turn to her for guidance and protection and she will

GREEN KNIGHTS BASKETBALL CAMP
St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, NJ is the site of
the 31st annual Green Knights Basketball Camp this summer for boys
ages 8 to 15. The camp runs in three sessions: July 8-11; July
15-18; and July 22-25. The camp day is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

LEND ME A TENOR
St. Joseph Regional HS is proud to present Lend Me a Tenor, "one
of the two great farces by a living writer" according to the New
York Times. This madcap, must-see comedy won two Tony Awards and
four Drama Desk Awards. Performances are Thurs-day, May 16th,
Friday, May 17th, Saturday, May 18th at 7 pm, and Sunday, May 19th
at 3pm. All shows are presented in the Inserra Theater at Saint
Joseph Regional High School, 40 Chestnut Ridge Road, Montvale NJ.

Ramsey, NJ –Don Bosco Prep’s Chapel Concerts will complete its
thirteenth season featuring Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and
Jazz Piano with local artists Patricia Lazzara, Flutist and Kristin

RUTGERS BASKETBALL PROGRAM
Rutgers University-Newark will be running its 19th annual
Sum-mer Basketball program for children ages 6-17. The program is
July 8-12, July 15-19, July 22-26 and July 29 to Aug 2, 2019 from
8:30 AM to 4 PM. We offer early drop off and late pick up free of

WHY DO CATHOLICS INVOKE THE HOLY SPIRIT?
As the Third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is invoked
every time we make the Sign of the Cross. In Baptism, he dwells in
our souls and makes us children of God. He makes us recep-tive to
God’s grace. He also teaches and helps us to pray. He guides and
protects the Church. Through his gifts, he inspires and enables us
to do the good we ought to do.
ST. JOHN BAPTIST DE ROSSI
Born in Voltaggio Italy, St. John Baptist de Rossi was born to
devout middle class parents. Being an excellent student, he was
invited to join the Roman College at the age of thirteen! Ten years
later, John was ordained a priest. He spent his days serving
prisoners, workers and the patients of the local hospitals, and his
nights ministering to the poor people of the street. He died of
illness worn out by his labors.
POPE ST. GREGORY VII - May 25
Pope Gregory worked to eliminate corruption in the Church and
defended it from attacks on its authority. For this he suffered and
died in exile.
OUR LADY OF FATIMA - May 13, 1917
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three children near Fatima,
Portugal and asked that they pray the Rosary for peace, for the end
of World War I, for sinners and for the conversion of Russia.
