FINANCIAL REPORT

The amount of the October 1 collection was $12,130.00 . Thank you for your continued generosity to St. Gabriel's. God bless you and your families.

Today’s readings focus our attention on vineyards. Isaiah’s song concerning his friend’s vineyard begins with inspiring and poetic images of an idyllic vineyard where the choicest harvest is ex-pected. Instead, the vineyard yields wild grapes, which causes the owner to abandon it. The psalmist cries out to God, asking that God once again take care of the vineyard, which is the house of Israel. The parable told in today’s Gospel offers a stern warning that those who commit treachery in the hopes of attaining person-al wealth will be “put . . . to a wretched death." Jesus warns his listeners not to act like the murderous tenants in the vineyard. Instead he exhorts them to produce the kind of fruit that will lead them to the kingdom of God. Peace Fr. Frank

FAITH DIRECT

As you may know, we have recently introduced a new program for electronic offertory donations called Faith Direct. This program has already had a positive impact on our Sunday col-lection. The program is a cost effective

way for the parish to receive donations. For every family that has signed up with Faith Direct, we have been able to eliminate the cost of purchasing and mailing envelopes. This method has also reduced the handling of cash and checks in the rectory and has proven to be a safe and secure method of making a church offering. Our increased enrollment with Faith Direct will continue to sta-bilize our parish finances. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Fr. Frank or Faith Direct at 866-507-8757 (toll-free). To enroll in the program, pick up an enrollment form from the parish office or visit www.faithdirect.net and use our parish code: NJ361 God bless you.
