St George’s Academy is an 11-18, mixed, specialist Maths and Computing Academy of over 1,600 students, serving the town of Sleaford and the surrounding area in Lincolnshire. The Academy occupies a site of 32 acres at our Sleaford site with a smaller site at Ruskington with around 350 students: both sites are incredibly well-resourced and offer a fantastic environment in which to train to teach. The Academy is also part of a joint sixth form of around 700 students, offering a wide choice for students in all subjects. The ethos of the Academy is summarised in our "Aiming High" mission statement: we are trying to achieve the best for every individual child.

St George’s Academy Partnership is currently recruiting trainee teachers for September 2017 in Primary, along with Secondary. This will be our fourth successful year, where trainees will get the opportunity to apply directly to a school to train to teach, with excellent prospects of a job at the end of the training.

This new path into teaching is a great new way to gain the qualifications and practical skills you need to become a teacher. It allows those who have just finished a degree, or have been working in a career for many years to combine teacher training with actually doing and learning on the job.

We are working closely with a group of eight Nursery and Primary schools, along with seven other local Secondary schools, to enable us to offer a fantastic training programme for trainee teachers during 2017-2018. Please visit our website to see the wide range of training places available through our partnership from September 2017. At the end of the programme, you will be accredited with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the Partnership, along with a PGCE from the University of Lincoln, with 60 Masters Level credits.

Welcome to St George’s Academy Partnership School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

We are very proud of our school and of the standard of care and education that we provide. Our school has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ in its last three OfSTED inspections.

We want you to share in our aim to excite, engage and educate children. As a Nursery School we offer the children the best possible start through a stimulating, practical and exciting curriculum, rooted in excellent early years practice. We are very lucky to be one of only five Local Authority maintained Nursery Schools in the county. This means that we are a ‘real’ school, with a Head Teacher, fully qualified teachers and teaching assistants. Training with us will provide you with the opportunity to become part of a team that will support you in becoming not only a fully qualified Primary School Teacher but will also ensure you have a thorough understanding of child development; allowing you to really understand how and why children learn.

We believe that teaching young children is a privilege and that they deserve highly qualified, specialist and inspiring teachers who can give them the best start in life. If you think that you could be that teacher then we would love you to come and train with us. .

“The training has been fantastic and has supported me through the teaching process.

I feel that the programme as a whole is incredible and I have been fortunate to be

able to be a part of it this year. The support from all involved has been outstanding and

it is nice to have been welcomed into the career by a supportive team, school and

cohort.” Jemma, 2015-2016

“The training has been difficult and

challenging at times, and because of this it has

equipped me with the right tools and the

correct mentality to be the best teacher I can

be. This training and its 4-day school based

placement, allows you to make mistakes, and

only then can you develop your teaching. Even

if I had an outstanding lesson, how could I

make it better still? This mentality is down to

the training I received. Thank you.”

We are one of five Local Authority maintained nursery schools in Lincolnshire. The school was established in the 1940s and has been providing high-quality Early Years education and care since that time, as evidenced in recent years by four consecutive Outstanding Ofsted reports. The school is located on the north side of the city in the heart of up-hill Lincoln, close to the Cathedral quarter and also to the Lincoln A46 by-pass. We accept children mainly from the local neighbourhood and also from other areas of Lincoln and outlying villages. We have three classes which are staffed by fully qualified Teachers and Teaching Assistants. Our school is a happy, safe place where diversity is celebrated and all children are provided with opportunities to develop their own strengths and interests. We work in partnership with parents and the community to enable our children to learn, achieve and succeed through play and real life experiences and so become valued members of society.

Welcome to St George’s Academy Partnership School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

At Belton Lane Primary School we enjoy ‘Challenging ourselves to improve.’ Working together to improve children’s opportunities, we aim to make learning collaborative, exciting and purposeful. We immerse children in real life experiences, encourage curiosity and develop practical skills to cultivate, within the children, an excellent capacity to learn. A well resourced Primary School serving a mix of private housing and a large council estate, Belton Lane Primary has so much to offer. Our extensive school grounds include large playgrounds and both a hall and gym. We have a fantastic new library and want our children to share a passion for reading that will impact on their writing. The school has many links with the local community and a Children’s Centre on site. A breakfast club, afterschool club and holiday activities are all available to children in our school. We develop good relationships with our most vulnerable families and engage parents in their children’s learning wherever possible. The most important element of our school is our teaching staff – In order to provide our school with excellent teachers in the future we aim to offer our trainee teachers the very best experiences.

Our school has Foundation Status and was opened in 1974 on the site of the old RAF Skellingthorpe and the name was chosen because Lancaster bombers flew from here. The school is one of several nursery, infant, junior and primary schools within the Birchwood area, with a mixture of owner-occupied and local authority housing. The local community is well served with public services and health care. The Lancaster School is housed in a two storey building (the small upper storey currently being used as the IT suite), with a staff room, administration block and 7 classrooms in 3 wings radiating from the central hall, a dedicated library, a self-contained outside play area, with access for the children to bikes, trikes and scooters, as well as climbing frames and other play equipment. The school also has a Community Room from which we run a Breakfast Club, Cookery Club as well as adult and community courses. On leaving The Lancaster School at age 7, there is a choice of several junior schools, although the majority of our pupils transfer to Birchwood Junior School. We work very closely with Birchwood Junior School to ensure a smooth transition for our Year 2 children. The Lancaster School works closely with several agencies and services within the local community, including Sure Start, Birchwood Library and St Luke’s and St Martin’s Church.

Winthorpe Primary School is a fun, friendly and hardworking school, in a pretty rural village situated on the outskirts of the market town of Newark, well situated for access to the A1 and the A46. We have high aspirations for all of our pupils and we are proud of everything our children achieve. We ensure that we deliver high quality learning experiences through the delivery of an interesting and stimulating curriculum, and this is reflected in the children’s outstanding behaviour and attitudes. Our children love coming to school and thoroughly enjoy the challenges laid before them, and fully engage in the wide extra-curricular activities that our school provides, including an exciting residential trip to Paris. The children are smart, polite and well behaved and work hard to fulfil their potential. Our popular school comprises of 4 classes and has lovely grounds with wide open spaces which the children are able to use all year round. The school has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and prides itself on its ‘family feel’ where every child is known personally by all our staff, and where our children care and take responsibility for each other across the year groups.
