My dear brothers and sisters, As we celebrate today, Palm Sunday, we celebrate the Passion of Our Lord. As we recall Christ’s suffering, we understand how he suffered for all of us. He did that out of love. Many are entering into His Passion in a very different way this year. People are losing jobs. Many have lost loved ones. Others are still trying to find ways to put food on the table. Small businesses are temporarily closing until this Pandemic is over. With all these challenges in our lives. What are we supposed to do? There was a picture someone sent me that said, “PUT GOD FIRST and everything else will fall into proper place.” Maybe that is just something that we need to think about more often. Put God first and everything else will fall into its proper place. With God first in our lives, we start seeing things with different eyes. We are able to experience the beauty of God in different ways: family dinners, outdoor walks with social distance, quiet time. In every moment, God is there. In every moment God is listening. Let us enter into this Holy Week with complete trust that He will provide. For nothing is impossible with God. Please join me in prayer to the end of this Coronavirus Pandemic that afflicts the world, and that God will heal the sick and strengthen those who care for them. Mis queridos hermanos y hermanas, Al celebrar hoy, Domingo de Ramos, celebramos la Pasión de Nuestro Señor. Al recordar el sufrimiento de Cristo, entendemos cómo sufrió por todos nosotros. Lo hizo por amor. Muchos están entrando en Su Pasión de una manera muy diferente este año. La gente está perdiendo su trabajo. Muchos han perdido seres queridos. Otros todavía están tratando de encontrar formas de poner comida en la mesa. Las pequeñas empresas están cerrando temporalmente hasta que termine esta pandemia. Con todos estos desafíos en nuestras vidas. ¿Que se supone que hagamos? Había una foto que alguien me envió que decía: "PON A DIOS PRIMERO y todo lo demás caerá en su lugar". Quizás eso es algo en lo que debemos pensar más a menudo. Ponga a Dios primero y todo lo demás caerá en su lugar apropiado. Con Dios primero en nuestras vidas, comenzamos a ver las cosas con otros ojos. Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of
the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children We ask you to
intercede for us with your Son, As you did t the wedding in Cana.
Pray for us, loving Mother,
And gain for our nation and world and for all our families and loved ones,
the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst
of this illness. For those already afflicted, We ask you to obtain the grace of
healing and deliverance.. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful,
Wipe away their tears and help them to trust.
In this time of trial and testing

God of everlasting goodness, you sent your Son among us
to bring healing, peace, and reconciliation to our weary world.
Be with all health care workers and their assistants
in this time of the Coronavirus pandemic.
As they continue Jesus’ ministry of care, renew them in mind, body, and spirit.
Keep them safe from infection and illness, and may Christ’s healing presence flow
through them as they serve those entrusted to their care.
We ask this in his name,
Christ the healer, who is Lord forever and ever.

FIVE SIMPLE WAYS TO CELEBRATE HOLY WEEK AT HOME
Create a simple prayer space in your home, and gather there to pray during the week. Palm Sunday: At your regular Mass time, read the first Palm Sunday Gospel (Mt 21:1–11) and meditate on or discuss what Jesus might be thinking as he enters Jerusalem for the last time. Holy Thursday: Bake bread for sharing at dinner; make a ritual of stripping the dinner table of all cloths and decorations after dinner. Good Friday: Pray the Stations of the Cross at 3 p.m. Holy Saturday: In the morning, read Psalm 64 and break your Good Friday fast solemnly with a simple meal. Easter Sunday: Dress up the dinner table again. Include candles and crosses, so that the candy baskets aren’t the only festive items present. Sing Alleluia and read the Easter Gospel (Matthew 28:1-10) with solemnity and joy.
