Stewardship is alive and well at STGGCS. Twenty students, grades 4-7 will campaign for positions on Student Council 2017-2018 this week. We are so grateful to this wonderful group of servant leaders who are inspired to serve our Student Body. They have big shoes to fill- this year’s Student Council has been phenomenal- but they are equal to the task. Good Luck Everyone!
Election Timeline
It is quite amazing how time is flying by this month, with eighteen school days remaining to 8th Grade Graduation and twenty-three school days to the end of this school year.
We continue to keep Our Blessed Mother Mary at the center of our devotion during the month of May. Pope Francis reminds us that, “Mary is the center of the communion of saints, as the singular guardian of the bond of the universal Church with Christ.” He continues, “Whoever wants to follow Jesus
on the path of the Gospel can find a secure guide in Mary; she is an attentive and caring mother with whom we can entrust every desire or difficulty.”
We enjoyed a fabulous Gala evening at the Marriott Marquis last Saturday. The atmosphere was fun-filled with a distinct Latin flavor. I am so grateful to all our parents who attended this year- your generosity demonstrates a true spirit of stewardship. Congratulations and gratitude to Jeannine Sullivan, Kris Lighthart (Co-chairs) and Gina Mell (school liaison) who worked tirelessly to make this fundraising event so special.
This week we celebrate and honor the amazing teachers at our school. Their level of professionalism and dedication to the students under their care is second to none. I know you will join with me in thanking each of them for the unique gifts they bring to our community and for their commitment to Catholic education, serving the diverse needs of our students in such a loving and nurturing way.
As we enter our third week of solar installation, I am glad to report that installation of solar panels on the library roof is complete, and work now begins on the carports.
Blessings for a wonderful week! Mrs. O’Connell
Congratulations!

CMG Connect New Diocesan Requirement for Safe Environment Clearance
St. Gregory the Great Catholic School Community is deeply grateful and much blessed at the level of parent involvement and engagement in supporting the life of the school. The Diocese has recently partnered with Catholic Mutual Group (CMG) to provide a new and improved Safe Environment Curriculum. All school volunteers are now required to fulfill the CMG Connect requirements for Safe Environment and Driving clearance by viewing these videos online. We understand that this updating process requires another gift of your valuable time, and welcome you to record fulfilling this requirement as two stewardship hours for the coming school year. Record as CMG training. Please be sure to submit your certificate of completion to the school office.

Spirit Wear Leads Wanted
Are you looking for a fun way to earn service hours next year? We are looking for two parents to lead our Guardian Spirit Wear sales for 2017-2018. Spirit Wear items like t-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts allow students and parents to show their spirit and support our school community. We need two outgoing and enthusiastic leads to make next year's sales a success. Please contact the office if you are interested!
Save the Date for VBS and Earn Middle School Service Hours!
A fantastic way for our middle schoolers to earn service hours for next year is to volunteer over the summer as a counselor at St. Gregory the Great's Vacation Bible School (VBS) at the parish. VBS will take place the week of July 24th-28th. Details will be coming out soon, but save the date now to take advantage of this terrific opportunity to bank those precious service hours! PTSG Thanks You
We have received a tremendous response to our call for volunteers for next year. Without the support of our incredible school parents, most of the exciting and fun-filled events that take place at our campus would not be possible. Many thanks to all those who have heeded the call to serve as an event lead, room parent, or other volunteer. We appreciate you and look forward to another stewardship year.
