ST. ISIDORE the FARMER CATHOLIC CHURCH Growing Faith, Family and Friendship since 1961
Mission
We, the parish of St. Isidore the Farmer, are dedicat-
ed to growing a life-long Catholic community. Be-
lieving in the Risen Christ, we are empowered by the
Holy Spirit to celebrate the Eucharist, to be nour-
ished by the Word of God, and to serve the needs of
the local and worldwide community.

Stewardship : Jesus says, “I came that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Good stewards are grateful for the gift of life and joyfully share their abundance with others.
Vocation View: Traditionally on Good Shepherd Sunday, we celebrate World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Today of all days, pray for an increase in vocations to priesthood, the diaconate, and religious life. Invite someone you know to consider a life of leadership in the church. (John 10:1-10)

Thank you to the catechists for continuing to provide lesson plans by email to the parents and students. This has been es-pecially challenging as some classes use textbooks and other materials. Thank you to the "new" catechists (parents) for working with your children to continue as normally as possi-ble with faith formation for your children. We would have officially been done with classes on May 6th, closing with Mass but as you know that is not possible. We continue to hold all of you, your children, and families in prayer. Stay safe and we hope to see you all next year! Totus Tuus Fundraising - We are coming to an end to the fundraising efforts for Totus Tuus, the week long summer religious education opportunity for St. Isidore and St John youth. If you have taken a One Mission candle, please turn in your "collection banks" when you are able. You can drop the banks off at the church by appointment. Please contact Michele Loehr to arrange a time to drop off your "collection bank". Michele's cell is 319-560-0018. Thank you for help-ing with this effort.

Connect High School Seniors with College Campus Ministry This is a particularly difficult year for high school seniors. Make their transition to college easier! Newman Connections is a non-profit with the sole mission of connect-ing incoming college students with the Catholic Student Center on campus. Please look for a direct mailer from the Newman Connection soon. You can learn more about their free services by going to their website: http://www.newmanconnection.com/. Pre-Canas Moved to Virtual Platform Pre-Cana marriage preparation days scheduled through early May (at least) will take place virtually via Zoom. The sched-ule has been modified to accommodate the virtual platform and the price has been reduced to $25. Engaged couples may learn more and register here: www.DBQArch.org/Pre-Cana. Rice Bowl and Holy Land Collections For those parishes which voluntarily participate in the Rice Bowl program, contributions are usually returned during Ho-ly Week. Without the opportunity to bring contributions to Holy Week liturgies, these can be collected by parishes at any time after Mass resumes and sent to the Stewardship De-velopment Office which will ensure the gifts get to Catholic Relief Services. The collection for the Holy Land has nor-mally been taken on Good Friday. Absent a liturgy, there is no expectation for this collection to be taken. Should you receive gifts for this cause, send them to the Finance Office through Who’s Where. The Archdiocese will then forward them as required. A deadline for these gifts will be set after Mass resumes. Archdiocese of Dubuque Relief Fund If you are looking for a way to support the COVID-19 disas-ter relief efforts of Catholic Charities, please consider con-tributing to the COVID-19 Relief Fund for the Archdiocese of Dubuque.
