NEW BEGINNINGS MINISTRY Apologies are offered for the mistake in last week’s
bulle!n. Joe and Anne Allen assisted in the Ballcap
Project, not Bob and Ann Allen as was printed. We
thank them for their !me and efforts not only in this
project, but for all that they do for our church.
We have NO protein food items to distribute to
those in need and are also low on fruit and dessert
type foods as well. O"en, the people we work with
have no can openers so pop-top cans work the
best. We are desperate to fill our shelves!
Blessings in a Bag, the project which helps students
in need on the weekends during the school year, is
on hold un!l the new school year begins. New
Beginnings will use that collec!on box for
the upcoming school supply campaign which will
begin in July.
Elec!ons for Chairman and Vice-Chairman of
New Beginnings will be held in September. If you
are interested in becoming a member of this
organiza!on, it would be wonderful if you could
a$end mee!ngs this summer to become more
knowledgeable.
We helped one single mother (abuse situa!on) of
one with hotel rent this past week un!l her first
paycheck was issued.

While being a bit rough in its
Greek, Mark’s Gospel is a
carefully constructed piece of
ar!s!c story telling . Using
literary structures, Mark seeks to focus the
a$en!on of the s!ll young Chris!an community on
how God has worked in the life and ministry of
Jesus Christ, Son of God: Jesus is servant to all, even
to the point of death. Mark then seeks to create
faithful disciples of Jesus who are willing to “take up
that cross and follow him.” He does this primarily by
use of the apostles’ constant failures.
Presenter: Timothy Carmody Ph.D. Director of
Graduate Programs in Theology and Ministry at
Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama.
Cost: $180.00 (includes a $40.00 non-refundable
deposit).
