CELEBRATION OF YEAR 2’s WORK - WEEK 3 It has been a pleasure to talk to the children and parents this week about all the hard work they are doing at home. I can really see some of their fantastic qualities such as imagination, effort and perseverance in their work. Keep up the amazing work! What a brilliant idea! Favour has used resources she has at home to complete the task set with her own twist. She has correctly identified that fruit and vegetables and carbohydrates such as bread, rice and pasta and other starchy food should make up the bulk of your plate so that it is healthy. I like the way she’s made the titles stand out by using black marker pen. Sugary foods shouldn't take up so much of the plate however it might be that Favour made it this big to include the lovely illustrations. Here is another healthy plate of food created by Aimee. I particularly like her pictures of broccoli, bananas, cheers and strawberries as they look so realistic. This must have taken quite a bit of time to do. Well done! Darasimi’s work on plurals is great. A big thank you too to her parents for taking the time to rewrite the work out onto paper for her to complete as well as marking it. What great perseverance you are showing in difficult times! Anaya has sent in a prayer and an acrostic poem about peace which seem particularly pertinent in these times. Very thoughtful work Anaya.

What a brilliant idea! Favour has used resources she has at home to complete the task set with her own twist. She has correctly identified that fruit and vegetables and carbohydrates such as bread, rice and pasta and other starchy food should

make up the bulk of your plate so that it is healthy. I like the way she’s made the titles stand out by using black marker pen. Sugary foods shouldn't take up so much of the plate however it might be that Favour made it this big to

include the lovely illustrations.

Here is another healthy plate of food created by Aimee. I particularly like her pictures of broccoli, bananas, cheers and strawberries as they look so realistic. This must have taken quite a bit of time to do. Well done!

Darasimi’s work on plurals is great. A big thank you too to her parents for taking the time to rewrite the work out onto paper for her to complete as

well as marking it. What great perseverance you are showing in difficult times!

Anaya has sent in a prayer and an acrostic poem about peace which seem particularly pertinent in these times. Very thoughtful work Anaya.

Julia’s Maths work shows a great understanding of identifying fractions and equivalent fractions. Julia’s Mum told me that it was Julia’s own idea to use

different colours and they really make the answers pop!

Rebecca’s spelling and handwriting practice show great effort. This is

something Year 2 are just starting to do and I can see a lot of improvement here! I think the first option she has written is fantastic because it shows clear joins and all her letters sizes are consistent too. Keep it up!

Here is an example of the lifecycle of a butterfly. I really like the way Evie has used arrows in her diagram to indicate the lifecycle process. She has also used great sequencing

adverbs in her writing to tell you when things happen. She’s also used some really great vocabulary such as emerges and chrysalis. I also like the fact she’s

included that when a butterfly first emerges its wings are wet so it can not fly yet. Great use of conjunctions too Evie!

Nebi’s work on the lifecycle of a butterfly is great too.

I like the way he has used when at the beginning of his sentence. The illustrations are fantastic too. Look closely at the expression of the caterpillar when it hatches out of the egg and the simile

he has used comparing the cocoon to being a bit like a sleeping bag.

Bernard’s reading comprehension about the Pentecost shows lots of skills in retrieval. Well done Bernard!

What amazing work Moyor showing how to ‘uplevel’ verbs! Well done for using a thesaurus to look up lots of alternative words for verbs and for using such beautiful presentation in your work too.

Alex has even being doing extra work at home and sent in this example. What a great effort!

I also thought you’d like to see what Mrs White has been making. She’s knitted these amazing birds. They white one reminds me of a dove which is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.Take care all of you and stay safe.
