Last weekend was our parish Festival, and what a great day it was. The weather was
perfect, more than 385 adults and children attended, the food was plentiful and deli-
cious, the games were busy, and the magician and Snow Queen were big hits. It was a
perfect day. But let me comment on something deeper.
A hard working group of parishioners came together all summer to make this day hap-
pen. Led by Dan Loch, they worked so well together and created a small community.
What makes our parish work, are the number of small groups and ministries that serve
the larger parish. Just last night for example, 14 members of the Social Concerns Com-
mittee met to plan the year. That group also works so wonderfully together and has such
a sense of community. In both cases, it is the leadership (Social Concerns is led by Bar-
bara Bagnato and Rebecca Sweeney). But each group consists of people willing to
work together for the sake of the wider parish. It is both impressive and inspiring.
We are in the month of October, and Mass count Sundays are upon us (October 15-16
and 22-23). As part of sharing our Faith, and promoting the blessing that is this parish,
why not invite someone to experience our community those Sundays. If you have a visi-
tor, and they come on the weekend of October 22-23, they will even get to hear Julie
Coyne’s yearly talk on the great work at Education and Hope in Guatemala.
Also this month we are having an ‘Inquiry Night’ for those adults who want to be Bap-
tized or received into the Church. The session will be at 7pm on Tuesday night, October
18th, in the Resource Room.
Much more is happening, so watch for information on: house meetings, bible study, and
‘Build Your Faith’ Sundays!

As always, thank you for your
generous support of our parish.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR
PARISH FESTIVAL HELP!!
What a fabulous parish family festi-
val! 385 attended, the most since
2001. Thank you to all the many
volunteers who did set-up, food
prep, grilled, served food, sold tick-
ets, helped with children's activi-
ties, gave out popcorn and cotton
candy, and helped in any way to
make the festival a success.
Thank you to the generous merchants whose gift
cards gave us some of the food and supplies
needed for the festival: Walmart, Costco,
ShopRite, Stop & Shop, and Cranbury Market.
These five stores have supported the festival for
many years.
Norwalk Shares The
Warmth, a new group
forming to knit and cro-
chet for those in need,
will be meeting on Tues-
day, October 4 at 7 p.m.
in the Parish Hall of St. Paul's on the Green. All
those who knit or crochet are welcome to join. For
more info, please attend the meeting or contact
Pat O'Toole at 203-247-1680.
TWEETS OF THE WEEK
@Pontifex “Let us walk together
taking care of each other and of
Creation, our common home.”
@BishopCaggiano “The lesson of Matthew’s
call is simple: No one is excluded from God’s
offer to begin again and to rediscover the
power of divine mercy.”
@JamesMartinSJ “Gospel: Over and over,
Jesus tells us that we will be judges for how
we treat the poor in this life. He couldn’t be
clearer. Pay attention.”
FOOD DRIVE
Thank You!!
Our September food drive
had lots of great support
from our parishioners, es-
pecially impressive when many people were volun-
teers for the wonderful Festival, too! The collected
food item total was 783, (425 of which were the most
needed items bought after Masses). The milk fund
collection totaled $100. Nancy and John Wagner
went above and beyond, collecting all bags of food
from the hallway during the week and after each
Mass in order to keep a clutter-free hallway for Festi-
val preparations. They also offered to deliver all the
food to the pantries. In addition, Rosemary Roma-
niello, Kathy Jimenez, and Francie Mansager each
took a shift at the table selling the most needed items
after Masses. Thanks to these devoted volunteers,
and to everyone who made a donation to help feed
our hungry neighbors.
.
KEEP NORWALK WARM COAT DRIVE!
This year's Norwalk Coat
Drive is being held earlier --
the coat giveaway will take
place on 10/22 at the Nor-
walk Police Station. Our So-
cial Concerns Committee
invites you to bring dona-
tions of new or gently-
used coats, hats, gloves
and mittens to the hallway
through OCTOBER 16, which will give us time
to get them dropped off for the giveaway. Our
parishioners have traditionally donated beautiful
coats that are immediately given to our
neighbors in need. Please take the time to
search through your homes for outgrown coats
or coats you no longer wear. Any size coat
(children’s or adults) will be gratefully accepted

BIBLE STUDY RETURNS
OCT. 18 – PSALMS!!
Our five week study of the
Book of Psalms (with 25-
minute DVD videos by Sr. Di-
anne Bergant, Ph.D.) takes
place from Oct. 18 through Nov. 15 in the church
hall after the 9 AM Mass on Tuesday mornings.
After each video we will have a half-hour of dis-
cussion led by Fr. David. As those who viewed
the Sr. Bergant videos last spring can verify, Sr.
Bergant opens up Scripture to make the songs of
the Psalms brand-new with her brilliant insights.
